Also in slp , Wood staying , with Pritchard and Cort leaving and dervite has already had a medical but all of this we knew apart from Wood.
Maybe they have other things on their minds right now but it is still the right and decent thing to do.
Good Luck Alex
PS Damian Matthew? What about him? Excellent coach who I hope stays.
Good news but again why not say this on the OS.
And I will say it again this is not about the Comms team. They "print" the news they are authorised to.
There are sometimes very good reasons why transfers are not on the OS before being all over other media, usually because the OS only announces deals when the player is officially signed, sealed, deliver and ours.
But if three well respected coaching staff have already re-signed why not say so?
To me the best way to "manage" that would be to say "Bye Alex, thanks you're a top bloke but we're keeping DM, BR and LB so we have continuity and talent to back up the new head coach when he is appointed" or similar.
Respectful but positive and looking forward. I know the Comms teams could write it much better than me as well.
Andy Hughes departure was handled very well, IMO. Video clips and interviews. OK, not every departing player is Andy Hughes or will want to say nice things but why not say "thanks Pritch, Thanks
CarlLeon"Good luck Alex I hope you and Chris are successful in your next venture.
By now the club also used to announce which u18s were getting contracts, which were being released and who the new u18s were. Now we even find out about first team players long before the club mention it when they announce it themselves on Twitter.
I was told that Dyer would not be with the club a while ago, although that information was a friend had spoken to him in the car park and he had said he would not be at Charlton. I suspect that he was fully aware of his position from the time CP left but was encouraged to see out his contract and may even have been paid a retention bonus.
Best wishes to Alex, wherever he turns up next.
Good luck in the future.
