Massive result. Brilliant goal and a wonderful save to secure the points in the most dramatic fashion. Riga has rotated the players to some effect in the 3 away games and to pick up 6 points is fantastic. In securing the club's status, perhaps some of these players will secure their own futures too. It may have concentrated some minds. Credit to management and players alike, not forgetting the loyal band of fans who got their just reward.
I can feel it...some team is in for a right 2-0 tonking soon.
Amazingly in the league Doncaster (2-0) is the only game we've won by more than 1 clear goal so I think we'll have to wait until next season for our next 2-0 thrashing :-)

Even then if it wasn't for the excess of rain falling during the match, we'd of got spanked by more than 1 that much, and not reversed it! Funny old game..
Really want to see some proper highlights, like the goal celebrations, the penalty celebrations and the end celebrations haha apparently all the players went over to hamer at the final whistle. Great to see nego getting involved in celebrations too, shows thuram how to behave as one of the team even when not playing. Any pics would be great.....
I liked this paragraph taken from the match report on Sky Sports..
"Riga's inherited side are far too good on this showing to be relegated and in midfielder Diego Poyet, son of former Leeds assistant boss Gus who was in the stands, they possess one of the best teenagers outside the Premier League."
What a win. That penalty save was amazing and everyone went nuts. Bragging rights to my son at school tomorrow. Poor first half until 5 mins before the end, sideways and backwards passing followed by hamer kick, which poor piggott lost every time. He lost every header and was outmuscled when he got it to feet. Had a good end to the half when started to string some passing moves together. Cousins looked lost again out wide, even poyet looked. Second half Riga makes the right change to remove piggott then what a finish! After that Leeds heads went down our passing became more forwards and less sideways, and took several cynical Leeds fouls to stop us creating more chances. All the midfield started to play much better, closing Leeds down and combining well to keep possession. Dervite was immense in the air and also great at bringing the ball out of defence. Astrit didn't last 90 that was because he chased and harried himself into the ground. After the penalty save cousins was through one on one but goalie saved- who cares, 3 points are ours! Great at the end with players coming over, could see how much it meant to them. Fair play to Leeds fans in south stand who kept singing throughout.
I was listening to the Leeds commentary and watching the Utd - Bayern game on mute - let it be recorded here that Charlton and United's goals went in literally within a second of each other
What a fantastic result. Couldn't go tonight even though it was a close one, i was stuck at work in Donny. As i drove home i listened to commentary on Radio Leeds and there was 6 minutes to go as i got onto the motorway. To say my driving was slightly lacking attention was an understatement. Come the moment when the get the pen i was distraught, but when Ben saved the dayi nearly crashed into the barrier on the M18, lol. What an awesome ride following Charlton can be. I was frustrated more than upset walking out of Derby on Saturday, but felt positive that we could get something tonight. We all want our Charlton back and maybe we are about to get it. Roland if you ever listen to the fans, listen now!!
Sign up Ben Hamer. If you think selling Yann caused some wrath, letting Ben go for free could just take hatred to a new level. Don't be a fool, sign him before someone else does. Pleeeeeeeeease.
Love you tonight Ben and never really been a beard lover, but you can get away with it.
The reds are staying up. So envious of the 251 champions that cheered us on. Icould hear them loud and clear for the last 15 mins. Top fans at a real club. Was talking to Donny and Scunthorpe fans today and felt Powell type pride in our club, when they said that we are real fans. You can stick your Champions League up your arsenal. We've got our Charlton back!!
First of all, very happy for the travelling fans, you all deserved that. Reza and Hamer stepped up to the mark and showed their quality, and Jose Riga looks more like a quality manager every time. I was on the train after Burnley, and the general mood was that three points would be a good return from our three tough away games, and we'd probably be lucky to get one. A week and a half later, and six invaluable points in the bag. Yes, we caught Leeds and Forest at the right time, but you still have to win the matches, and we did.
The Reds are staying up the Reds are staying up, and now you're gonna believe us, and now you're gonna believe us, and now you're gonna belieeeeeeeve UUUSS! THE REDS ARE STAYING UP!
If what I continue to hear is true, Jose may well prove to be the most remembered and vaunted manager to have only been in charge for less than a 3 month period!
To my eye he has kept a lot of clean sheets whilst his teams have tried far harder to keep the ball on the deck compared to the previous incumbent!
Someone commented that he was our lucky charm - I don't see it as lucky rather a case of good management.
It's testament to our fans that Jose has been accepted so quickly
Fair comment! But then again most reasonable fans will give a new appointee a fair crack of the whip and his results and style of play have earned him our respect and appreciation!!
So pleased I didn't get up early to listen, I don't think my heart could have survived the pressure. Just magnificent. Reza finally scoring could be huge for us. I think he's got goals in him, he just needed to get off the mark. He might be light weight, but anyone who saw, Paul Walsh, Paul Williams or Michael Owen would know that it can be an advantage, so long as you can shoot.
I would've been happy with a point but to get all three....over the moon. Only downside was I got grief from the missus.
Missus: why are you smiling? Me : Charlton have won Missus: you think more of that football club than you do of me Me: I think more of Millwall than I do of you
Was out last night with the family and only just caught the news, fantastic result, and a striker on the scoresheet. Hope we top it off with a win on Sat

He's made up right now.
;o)
Well done to Reza and Ben Hamer both of whom have had their detractors on here.
Still lots of twists and turns I fancy but your contributions tonight could prove vital come May 3.

6 points from these 3 away games is fantastic work. All in our hands now especially with the home games we have left
Brilliant goal and a brilliant save to seal it too.
