Ok, yes it is funny but i just find the fact that one of our fans sat on twitter scrolling back over his tweets to find one to try and get him into trouble very sad and embarressing.
Can people please stop bringing up tweets when he was younger, and playing for us, like u have never done something u regretted, he has left now can we stop trying to hang him out to dry, the fact these old tweets keep getting brought up by charlton fans just makes us seem bitter
oh lighten up FFS
I am not the only one that has said its wrong to bring it up, so why are u quoting what I wrote why are you not quoting Nomadicaddick who has said practically the exact same thing as me

Look, if Poyet wants to be a dick then he has to face the consequences. He was lapping up the attention on Twitter not so long ago. Anyway, we've got Cousins and Bueyns now anyway.
He's not going to prison for it. It is Bamter, probably got ribbed about it weeks ago, probably on his first training session, think he's become good pals with Andy Carroll since. No harm done
Diego never thanked the fans when he left so what does he care what we think? I think its pretty funny because comments like this can always end up coming back and biting you on the arse. He was only ever looking out for himself.

Pauline Do you think you could stop telling people what to do?
Not sure if this has been raised before, but the reason he did not re-sign with Charlton was that he was told that if he did, he would be shipped out to Standard Liege and "forced" to play there for a year. Given that option, he decided to leave. We have a good replacement in Buyens, so it should not impact our season too much...

That was a rumour and we have no evidence whatsoever of it.
Much more likely IMO that he was offered the chance to go. "hey Diego, if you really don't want to stay in the championship how about playing in the Champions League with Liege next season" and so at least kept in the network.
But anyway, who wants to keep covering old ground eh.

I've heard this but I don't believe it for a second. We obviously offered him several contracts and I'm sure the chance to play for Liege was mooted in the hope we could get him signed up but what idiot would try to 'force' an out of contract player to do anything he didn't want to do. This is just crude spin used to justify a controversial move.

Interesting........ Not quite sure how you would 'force' a player to play.... and I am sure no manager would want to use a player that did not want to play for the club as our own manager at present has claimed! I could well imagine that the idea or opportunity of playing at Liege was used as an opportunity, but in the circumstances his father has far better connections than CAFC I would have thought? He was a free agent, and as much as it upset's us not getting a nice pay off, I hope CAFC learn from this issue. Quite what they 'can do' is somewhat at issue, as I for one questioned Keith Peacock about this when Shelvey left?. It seemed pretty obvious to all concerned the player was a talent, but was told that there only 1 offer on the table, and we all suspect that CAFC at the time were cash strapped. Keith also mentioned that it would be unfair to the player as well. I have to say that I disagreed, but it was not my future , or my money so I shut up!......
Diego isn't stupid, had a decent education at Eltham College and will have been guided by his Dad as to what not to do when at a professional football Club.
It's not as if he's ended up in a big pile of his own poo is it?
Like Jenks and Shelvey he'll be a mid table premiership player... Can't see him ever doing a Parker or a Jenkinson and playing being signed and not used for any of the big 4.

Best give Daniel Levy a ring Diego.

il be interested to see how he does at west ham but its no longer something to be bothered about.
We have players here that want to play for charlton and have faith the club is moving in the right direction.
