Yup. His focus should have been on playing week in week out and not his bank balance after just half a season of football.
Surely he didn't believe he would be a first team player even at a bottom half premier league club. Shame for both parties really.
Once Poyet has trousered about 5 mill in the next three seasons, I'm thinking he could not give a poo how many games he plays.
He may do once he sees other young players moving up to the Premier League to start in 2/3 years once they're fully developed while he is still being shipped out on loan to the Championship.
It's day one of west hams season and he's on the bench, he hasn't been put on to the scrap heap for the rest of his career. He'll get games at some point this year.

That I can agree with. I am very cynical regards pro footballers, certainly in the premier.
Of course Poyet has to believe that he can make the West Ham first team, but should that not be the case he has still made himself financially secure for life then he can 'slum' it in the Championship.
Robbie Elliott has made 12 appearances for Newcastle since 2011. I believe his contract finishes in two years time, he will probably not sign for another premier club but he is young enough to 'start again' and perhaps get back to the premier league.
He is now a very wealthy man.
The point I am making is that players probably go for the money, then the football.
That said, and trying not to contradict myself, can you blame them?
Of course he will get games, maybe even establish himself. If he can't do it at West Ham it is because he is not a PL player and he will end up back in the Championship having earned PL money for a few seasons.
I am gutted he left, him in the middle instead of Jacko and Kermy upfront instead of Tuc and we would be right up there.
We are right up there with Bournemouth albeit after only two games. The thing is Poyet could have been helping us instead of sitting in his bucket seat. Let's see where things are at the end of month.
