  • Interesting that Dyer and Matthew seem to be sticking around

Was probably to much to close to the next game to make a decision on these two before Riga gets his own staff. I wouldn't be surprised if Matthew stays but in a different role and Dyer goes though.
  • Wasn't there tonight as at Cheltenham all week (2 bad days so far). Sounded is if we played OK but again no cutting edge. Really needed a win but a point isn't too bad considering the way the games went last night. We need something positive at Millwall however. Still in our hands with only around 46 points needed to be safe.
  • Very happy with that, especially first half. We dominated from start to finish. And Huddersfield never looked a threat.
Just a shame we can't put the ball in the net. Any other day we'd have won that 3/4 nil
  • First 30 mins we played well and should have been ahead after creating at least 3 very good chances and then another right on half time from a corner. We let them back in it but they created nothing in the second half and we had the best chance when Sordell was clean through but the keeper saved.

One point is not enough and we should have had three but saying that, the second half was turgid, almost as bad as Sunday!
  • We edged it overall but couldn't really keep sustained pressure on Huddersfield and capitalise on our better spells. We must have had eight corners in the first half but they only yielded two attempts on goal.

The team still looks fragile, a bit short of confidence (as you'd expect) and the physical level of a number of players dipped in the second half ( eg. AA). We did, however, try and play some football and Harriot and Sordell both played very well, whilst Poyet was assured, as usual. He played the best pass of the night, a lovely clip over the top to Sordell, but the keeper got out to smother it.

Huddersfield largely abandoned their attacking ambitions in the second half but we couldn't force the issue and the game petered out to a draw.

Some encouraging signs but, as we all know, we remain in desperate need of reinforcements, especially with 15 games to shoehorn into the next 8 weeks.

Thought we played pretty well with good movement , thought reza , astrit , harriott , poyet and sordell were all very good thought subs we're fine , think people are just looking to moan , onwards and upwards ! Coyr

    thankyou yann my thoughts exactly
  • Compared to recent games I thought that was decent. That doesn't mean I hate Powell, it was simply an ok point against an ok team with an ok performance.

  • It was way better than I thought it would be.

First half full of attack. Corner after corner in first twenty minutes. Looked like same old Charlton after an hour though. Tired and listless last 30 minutes.

Huddersfield were crap. Resorted to dirty tricks which didn't pay off in the end.

Weakness throughout was lack of finish - had we been on target could have had 5 or 6 in the net.

Sordell did well and I was surprised and from the bright attacking start clear they are trying to prove themselves.

No opinion on new coach but to quote Roly, time will tell...

One standout moment was the heartfelt clapping in the third minute accompanied by the chant of "Chrissy Powell". It really felt like it meant a lot, and it hit exactly the right tone I think. Proud to be Charlton.
  • I watched the coverage on sky sports as could not get there tonight. John salako was reporting on the game . Just before half time he described Huddersfield as being well on top and Hamer having to scramble back to desperately clear the ball off the line. He also said that we didn't look like scoring. He was asked how the fans reacted to the new manager and was fairly non committal on that but suggested that broadly there was support.
  • First half plenty of positives. Looked dangerous attacking wise with fullbacks overlapping. But didn't take our chances when on top. 2nd half huddersfield got to grips with us a lot better and shut us down. Should have won but can build on the point
  • Was the mirror image of Sunday. Started brightly, kept using Morrison and Hamer and then over to Wilson/Wiggo then we get unstuck. Sordell was alright, no one else stood out, was a boring game and we are bottom because none of our players can score, Hudds looked settled at 0-0. Reza looks like a waste of time in this league
  • Surprised that Poyet singled out by others, i thought he was ok, but no better overall tonight.

But agree that Sordell's performance was encouraging. He surely will be helped by a change of management.

What the hell has happened to Wiggins though? Totally out of sorts apart from one brilliant run.
  • Typical rubbish from Powell.

His tactics are appalling. We ended up with five central-midfielders on the pitch, and Cousins playing as a winger.

Powell is too cautious. Why tell our centre-halves not to go up for a last minute free-kick?

We need to replace him with a foreign coach who understands tactics NOW.

    10/10
  • Poyet was ok but head is elsewhere could tell that, Johnnie was playing for the shirt. Wiggins may aswell stay at home, our only player on a long term contract and at this moment in time I wish he wasn't.
  • We're shit at taking chances.
  • Is there a more dull fixture in the football calendar than Charlton v Huddersfield?

In this league surely Doncaster vs Barnsley would have to top anything we are involved in!

  • Enjoyed the game. Set up to be more attack minded. Game started really fast with Hudds chasing us down and some good pressure which we countered well. Tried to play out from the back and keep the ball on the ground. Had some good chances. Harriott's best game for a while and Sordell too. Poyet was excellent. Wiggins still looks a bit unfit and Reza a bit lightweight. Also rode our luck on a few occasions. Thought 0-0 was a fair result in the end - although I think overall we shaded it. We need to take our chances! Think it was also a positive reaction to the situation and the players defiantly looked 'up for it'. Am optimistic for the future - although I still think a good, Championship experienced striker on loan would really help...
  • This issue should of been sorted in January. Go out and get a proven striker.
Still angry about everything. Cousins left winger haha. What a joke
  • Echo what others have said. 1st half good, nice movement, dummies, overlaps, ball on ground and building from back.

3nd 45 we looked tired and a bit less confident.

Nice touch on 3 minutes and the first half there was quite a lot of singing to get behind the team

I think a couple more games before everyone should judge Riga.

Reza isn't a right winger and Cousins certainly isn't a left midfielder tho, so we need to stop all this square pegs round holes shit all together and quickly.
  • Oh and Wiggins has sampled the new East Stand hotdogs (if fact the whole stall by the look of it). Awful
  • Only thing I would've done differently tonight is put Cousins on for the tired Ajdarevic, pushing JJ and Poyet up the pitch.
  • alex dyer has to step in at post match press conference, i know the journalists have to do a job but they are asking some questions that are ridiculous

Have to agree about some of the ridiculous questions. Overall thought he handled the press conference quite well.
  • Dont know why some on here are so positive about Reza. Thought he looked completely out of his depth at this level. Lightweight, poor touch, and passes astray left right and centre. Now this was the Sordell u would've wanted to see with Yann. Surely Polish Pete must be worth a try to add some height up front.
