  • Riga press conference :

Happy with the game but not the result
    Lot of chances
If Sordell had scored, would probably have beaten them
Share ideas with all the staff and they will all give input
Reaction of fans to players was good
  • 2 points dropped. Other than Clayton and Ward Udds were poor.

Played pretty well in the first half, second half dire. Hudds came with no intention of attacking and we couldn't break them down. After a strong first half, AA went missing in the second. Sordell looked most likely to score. Reza needs to cut out the diving - some of it was disgraceful. Pritchard's confidence is still shot. Poyet best player on the pitch. Maybe the new manager can improve this lot but I suspect it's new players we needed more than a new manager.
  • Most fans stood and clapped on 3 minutes and got behind the team for most of game

Same old same old. The lack of goals and quality up front needs to be resolved, or the result is the same whoever the manager / coach is. 24 goals in 31 games. 2 league goals in 7 games since Jan 18th.

All we need is a win on Saturday and we will stay up.

A win takes us above Millwall so we have to do it...thought we looked good tonight at times and Ok at others. Cousins should get more time but not sure at whose expense?
Harriott looked good... Bit more time and a home win will come.

  • First half an hour we played some good fast passing football - new manager clearly wants it played quickly to feet - full backs pushed up to the half way line - some crunching tackles as well
Unfortunately still can't score and we looked tired second half

perhaps he expects a higher level of effort???
  • A lot of positives. Harriot had probably his best game of the season as did Sordell. Pritchard came on and put in a solid performance. We sounded very lively in the first half especially. Finally we sounded quite comfortable at the end and weren't hanging on for dear life like we normally do.

That's because Huddersfield didn't attack us
  • Riga:

Asked about his qualities, said he looks for solutions, how to use players strengths and weaknesses, look for adaptation
Always looking to know more and improve
    He likes challenge
Does he understand the significance of Millwall game, yes he definitely does, everyone including players and staff talking about it, it is very important as it is a derby
  • Seems like the Kings new suit of clothes to me i.e. nothings really changed. Players still being played out of position and we still can't score.

  • Riga

Asked about being a feeder club: it is a collaboration between clubs
  • he only found out about the job 2 days ago and took it straight away
  • Riga:

Will he strengthen the squad: that is the idea, but it is wait and see, we have a good base
Atmosphere at Charlton good, we have a good stadium
Not interested in any pressure to take any Standard Liege players
  • alex dyer has to step in at post match press conference, i know the journalists have to do a job but they are asking some questions that are ridiculous

Audio a bit quiet so Checking did i hear right?........Riga asked about his contract length and avoided answering.

And again when asked about pressure to pick loan players?
  • Where is all this coming from ?
  • he only found out about the job 2 days ago and took it straight away

    Hmmmm

  • Riga:

Damien speaking, he will ensure Riga understands the Millwall rivalry
Knows there is a problem with goals, but expects being more efficient will improve this
Alex: Solly will start training with team next week, give it a couple of weeks longer and we will see how it goes
Aim is to be safe from relegation before the last game
  • Where is all this coming from ?
