Charlton v Huddersfield - Post match views

Honours even at The Valley as once again, our Achilles heel of the season, we fail to hit the net.

Really needed three points from this one.

Sounded a positive effort though. Look forward to hearing from those at the game

  • Wonder what atmosphere was like
  • I'm not too disappointed with that. Fully expected us to lose beforehand. Sounds like we created a lot, but (as always) we couldn't put it in the net. Promising though. Looking forward to hearing from those at The Valley.
  • I said 2 points a must this week.
Ill take that and another point Saturday
  • All we need is a win on Saturday and we will stay up.
  • makes that 3 points over QPR even more important...
  • Only really caught the last half an hour but would I be right in saying the best form of defence was attack?
  • I know I'll get shot down for this but for me I was caught in between really trying to get behind them in the key moments and yet still having the hump about the last few days

I won't be the same at Millwall on Saturday I promise

Biggest snooze fest since we drew 0-0 v Oxford a week before the full members cup final in 87

Chrissy Powells red and white army :)
  • Just on way back.

It was ok. Was nice to create a few chances but was very huff and puff rather than quality. We're just too slow in attack, too many players with their backs to goal with no movement.

Reza looked poor on the right and Wiggins is terribly out of form. Sordell did well with more effort than usual but there were no spectacular performances.

Points a point though and a win on Saturday makes it a good point.

Lucky if there was 11k in the ground tonight.

  • Snippets I picked up was the radio commentary gave the impression of being a lot more positive than those I've heard from at the game
  • Very poor game, we have a couple of chances in both halves, lacked any quality to finish the game off.
Many moaned about playing cousins on the right, he came on and played on the left.
  • No decent forwards at the club annoying as everyone else played well
  • Mate we could be there Tuesday week and we wouldn't have scored

    Poyet played well

All had the hump at the game!

We could have had Mourinho in charge and not scored. I'm afraid we're the lowest scorers in the league for a reason.

Still, it was encouraging to see us have a go and on a couple of occasions we had them on the ropes.

Reza was pretty hopeless but Sordell frankly had a decent game. Good first touch and got involved. We missed Cousins strength in the middle. What has happened to Wiggo?? Looks like he is carrying some serious weight as well.
  • Four things stood out for me.
    1) We had corner after corner in the first half hour leading to a few sharp chances - none of which were on target - we were so on top then I couldn't see Hudds recovering if we scored.
    2) After that first half hour, we became incapable of keeping the ball. Hudds seemed able to find their teammates every time while we continually misplaced passes, miscontrolled or hoofed away giving possession back. It reminded me of the last twenty minutes at Bramall.
    3) Can't remember the last time Wiggins had two shit games in a row, but it happened today. He was dreadful.
    4) I admire the effort to pass it around at the back, but it made me VERY nervous. I don't think our back four look good enough on the ball to do that.

Could've done with a win, but a point is a point.
  • For someone who has been watching us for a couple of months that prick RIGA puts Cousins left midfield and Pritchard right midfield clueless knob. Fucked off with that we aint got a forward at the club.

    Riga out? ;-)

Exactly the same for me. Views I've heard from those at the game far more negative so far.

    big balls... fanny hair.
  • A lot of positives. Harriot had probably his best game of the season as did Sordell. Pritchard came on and put in a solid performance. We sounded very lively in the first half especially. Finally we sounded quite comfortable at the end and weren't hanging on for dear life like we normally do.

Got a 4 year contract and it's off down the cake shop!
  • Commentary sounded positive but a lot of the time i wonder if the commentators are too biased. Interesting to hear the views of those at the game.

From the commentary though it sounded like Ajdarevic had an excellent game as did Wilson, Poyet and Jackson. Sordell sounded like he put in a shift as did Ghoochannejhad. Shame we couldn't get that goal though.
  • Thought that was Sordells best performance for us. Harriot my man of the match thought he played very well. Poyet was solid. Best we have played in a while so more positives than negatives. Gotta be beating teams like Huddersfield at home though. Just need to start scoring, it's so frustrating!
  • 1 point is a start. I expected a loss.
  • he picked the team with the help of the other employee's
  • First half an hour we played some good fast passing football - new manager clearly wants it played quickly to feet - full backs pushed up to the half way line - some crunching tackles as well
Unfortunately still can't score and we looked tired second half
