If there has been no rain on the pitch for four weeks it will surely be okay for one afternoon. Even with steady rain from one, it's hard to imagine the pitch being any worse than it was for Oxford.

Depends if they put the water sprinkler on before the game.
I think any Charlton fan with any modicum of sense who has a genuine interest in us will realise that our pitch is fucked and that EVERY game from now on in has the potential to be called off close to kick off and during play if it rains heavy or possibly snows once the covers are removed (not forgetting the potential for a frozen pitch if temperatures were to drop) with the dome covering the pitch the water affecting the pitch is minimal from above but the water from underneath is the problem , so every game will have a token gesture pitch inspection and every game will be said to be on on the day before the problem is that only the official, on the day of the match, will be able to assess the pitch nearer kick off once the dome is off and whatever rain or snow may fall on it during the period up to and including game time will make the pitch deteriorate and lead to late postponements/abandonments hopefully the message can be relaid to opposition fans so they know that there is real danger of games not taking place/finishing if the weather is not kind to us that is how i see it unfortunately
Is it always so rainy in England?Seems it really is.No wonder they say English people always carry an umbrella when they go out.
Pretty much. Earlier this week, a bloke walked out of my office building as I was coming in and asked when it had started raining. I replied "December". I'm funny like that.

Just to stop the hysteria over the pitch, the weather, the price of fish, etc, if nothing else.
