Also I must say for a pitch that's had all of the work put in in terms of covering etc the pitch looks awful... It is 100% none of the ground staffs fault as it's obviously a serious drainage issue.
Just to clarify I'm not blaming anyone just sayin it's really concerning that with 0 rainfall on it presumably since Oxford? That basically nothing has drained away...

Quote from the fans forum meeting.
The Valley Pitch SB explained the historic nature of the drainage issues on the pitch. The lateral drains under the pitch are supposed to be replaced every five years. This was last completed in 1998. The longitudinal drains appear to have silted up and could not be located when inspected by Sports Turf Research Institute. The path of rainwater into main sewer was apparently obstructed by building work, possibly in 2003. Over a period of time, pitch has degraded and there were other financial priorities in years gone by, which means that the issue will now need to be addressed in the off-season.
So as I understand there is no where for the water to go, hence the stodgy thick mud

I thought the tent wasn't coming off until 130 though so perhaps they are old.
