We were linked to one of Liege's central midfielders called Ibrahima Cissé.. Have heard from a few people that he is very highly rated and is a Belgium U21 international. Could be useful

Decent player, not sure if he is ready for the Championship another year maybe, Mainly a defensive midfielder can cover centre-back hasn't played for Standard since December.

I'm sure the emergancy loan window clubs can't sign players from abroad, So If we are going to get players in I expect it to be under 21 players from Development Squads.

He's agent also tweeted on deadline that he turned down a move to us.
  • Maybe Tottenham Left Back Zeki Fryers? Ex Standard.
  • Apparently Pulis is a good friend of Ian Holloway - so you can guess where he'll be going!
  • Elliot Grandin has gone to Blackpool.
  • I'd definitely take Owen Garvan and Darcy Blake from Palace.
  • Might it be possible to get Gradel on loan. I don't think he went anywhere and would give him a chance to see what we can offer him?

    Domestic loans only
  • Oh well, back to the drawing board - I thought the idea was that Europe was home!

  • Jack Butland admits he may be forced to go out on loan if he is to earn a place in England's World Cup squad.

Wouldn't mind swapping Thuram for him...
  • With Astrit, Jacko, Poyet and Cousins all fighting for CM spots, I think our priority will be bringing in attacking wide players.

A LM and a RM would do me nicely.

    All out on loan

I expect us to surprise a few with some out of contract free agents from across the network of rolands scouting framework

It would not surprise me if we saw atleast 1 from leige become a freebie and sign as not to take up a space

Woukd love garvan I said it pre season we shouldve gone for him

Johnnie Jackson. Will never happen, but I for one feel we have no use for him anymore. I can see an argument for keeping him as a sub for use in the last 20mins. I definitely hope we do not renew his contract. He's likely to be on decent money, and watching him completely off the pace next season (regardless c'ship or lge 1) isn't something I look forward to.

As for ins, definitely a creative, packet central midfielder, and a left and right winger
Short in central midfield as it is, sending our most senior one (and club captain to boot) would be complete and utter f**king madness, whether you think he's good enough or not
Maybe, maybe not. Sending him out on loan won't happen I know, because no club sends out their captain, but then it was probably Powell's mistake to make him captain. I can't see him adding anything between now and the end of the season, and would like to think the money he is likely to be on would be enough to get a better type off central midfielder on comparable wages.

Charlton looking to do a deal with Elfsborg for Victor Claesson, said to be a short term loan deal with a view to a permanent deal in the summer.

  • Only players allowed in are Roland Rejects so if only domestic loans are allowed that means no loans for us unless

a I am missing something or
    b. he buys another English club.

Is this on Football Rumours though or a proper website?
  • Swedish international would be a good signing.

Is Sweden classed a domestic? Getting confused here!
  • Few YouTube clips of this kid. Seems to fit the RD profile young and highly rated but not there yet.

Looks like the average age of our team is going to plummet. Exciting if it all works out.

Need to replace Stephens. Love the guy, but Jacko is not good enough for a Champ standard midfield 2 any more. Poyet is only 18 and cant be relied upon YET as a regular starter (certainly alongside Cousins as we would lack experience). And Astrit is still a bit unknown.

So defo need at least 1 CM. Along with 1 winger.

S'pose if there is an argument between a Swede and his missus then its classed as a Domestic...
  • CP press conference - “There are one or two areas that may need strengthening, especially with recent injuries, but nothing is lined up.

“We will take a break after that standard window until the emergency loan window opens and we will look then to see if anyone is available that will improve us for the remainder of the season."

This really worries me and I am hoping is just keeping things under his hat, otherwise we are going to miss out on potential signings.

CP on loans: We need it. I've made one or two enquiries but it's got to be right. There's not many about but we'll keep trying #cafc

    Claesson fails the height test.

    Only 5'11". Sorry.

  • A big YES to Butland.
  • I think he knows how desperate we are - but calm heads are needed. I think we need to get them a.s.a.p too.
  • Does the window open tomorrow?
  • Honest Pro, would be ideal short-term replacement for Stephens. Both Footed, Consistent all round player.
