We can still recall pope, only times you can't are during first 28 days of the loan and if the club paid for the loan

We can't the loan is until the end of the season ,it is not a 93 day loan this time http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25759407

    All out on loan

I expect us to surprise a few with some out of contract free agents from across the network of rolands scouting framework

It would not surprise me if we saw atleast 1 from leige become a freebie and sign as not to take up a space

Woukd love garvan I said it pre season we shouldve gone for him

As I understand it, free agents signed after the window is closed are only available for selection if they were released before the window closed.

As well as Elliot Grandin I notice Palace also released Welsh International right back Darcy Blake as a free agent.

Darcy Blake's a decent player. Bit of a Steve Brown.

Given Max Gradel is not getting regular football with St Etienne and no one else took him during the window - perhaps he might be more inclined to being loaned to us before the World Cup?

Are we able to take players released by one of RD's clubs?
  • When in League 1 under Parky didn't we sign Akpo during the second half of the season when we had 6 loans so we could play him plus 5 ? Wherever we got him from cancelled his contract and we signed him. Am I right remembering it this way?

  • I don't think we will see Koç on the teamsheet for a little while, he's 18yrs old and it sounds like he is here to train with our youth/development squad, at least initially.
Speaking to the press on Thursday, Chris Powell said of the winger: “He's a young player so he'll be more with the U21 squad."

“He's a wide player so we'll see how that develops for him. It's a different environment, he's already trained and he'll be involved with Jason Euell's squad and we'll see him with us as well.

“He doesn't speak much English and obviously with the physical nature of the Championship we need to make sure if he's ever involved with us he'll be ready for that.”

That was what was said on the OS very soon after we signed him, Markive - but I hear he has also trained with the 1st team squad.

And Koc travelled to Wigan on Saturday.
Maybe he's not so far away from being named on the bench?

  • Fair play Oggy,

It didn't sound too hopeful to me from reading that summary.. I didn't know he had traveled to Wigan.

That article does also say that he had started five times for Standard’s Liege first team since making his debut in January 2013...

I don't quite understand why we cannot announce loans that will become effective from the date of the loan window opening on Saturday or Monday. I hope that the club having identified their targets have already had the negotiations, during this week. Otherwise we are going to be in the situation we seem to be in every window anticipating players coming in and nothing happening. It is bad enough going into the Birmingham game with the gaps we have already without having a protracted period of negotiation, before we get new reinforcements.

Perhaps registrations can't be accepted and processed until then, Kap?

#cpfc were totally unaware of any #Millwall interest in Jonny Williams yesterday. Few clubs enquired about Garvan but no more than that.

what we need and want and what we get are probably poles apart .. For me the minimum is:
    1 central midfielder
    1 wide midfielder
1 central striker (who actually has a record as a goal scorer in England.

I'd like to see another goalkeeper .. mais malheureusement, we are gonna be stuck with Thuram the man
  • Brilliant comments Lincs - agree with you 100!

Probably and loaning clubs probably won't agree finally till the loan window opens incase a better deal comes in. I am just nervous and want it done and dusted.

Dorrans from WBA fits the bill.
He was due out on loan but it fell through in the window.
He came on for them last weekend and would do us fine.

He would indeed but I think Roland would have a little shat-elay or deux at his wages.

Johnnie Jackson. Will never happen, but I for one feel we have no use for him anymore. I can see an argument for keeping him as a sub for use in the last 20mins. I definitely hope we do not renew his contract. He's likely to be on decent money, and watching him completely off the pace next season (regardless c'ship or lge 1) isn't something I look forward to.

As for ins, definitely a creative, packet central midfielder, and a left and right winger
  • I am pretty certain that outside the main transfer window i.e. the emergency window, that lending clubs have the right,in all cases,to recall their player at any time after an initial 28 days have passed does anyone know if this is correct?

Short in central midfield as it is, sending our most senior one (and club captain to boot) would be complete and utter f**king madness, whether you think he's good enough or not
  • We were linked to one of Liege's central midfielders called Ibrahima Cissé.. Have heard from a few people that he is very highly rated and is a Belgium U21 international. Could be useful

    Ibrahima Cissé?

What's that meant to mean backwards?
