Just read the Mirror passage,it says we are competing with Brighton and Ipswich. The article also uses the Pulis quote from a couple of weeks ago that he hoped Williams would be loaned to manager of his acquaintance.

    Everyone knows Chris.
  • If Richard Murray said we are bringing in 2 to 3 players then that is what will happen.

If Brighton and Ipswich are in for Williams no chance. Hope I'm wrong and also that Muzza's statement on signings was more in expectation than hope.

To try and be slightly positive, he might choose us over them purely for location reasons.
  • And a possible Wembley appeaance, is he cup tied?
  • if we are going for players like SWP then we will get players in and are willing to pay.

Just out of curiosity I keep seeing this quote pop up where is it from?
  • My only worry is our we aiming too high? Trying players that deem we are below them rather than players that want to play.
  • As the angry mother said to the whining child: "you aint getting nuffink."

  • I am expecting "nuffink", I am not buying into this "we just missed out on him" etc. I cannot see RD wanting to spend anymore and I am not quite sure what RM has promised but when the window closes and we have not added I will not be surprised.

If Pulis wants him to go to a manager he knows and trusts, it must put Millwall right up there.

LOL. Just as he told us Parky was going to be sacked only to be later appointed Manager. Salt, pinch etc etc

I had my tongue very firmly in my cheek when I typed that.

More in tomorrow's paper on Leon Best. #cafc thought they had him before Sheff W bumped up % of his salary they would pay.

Nottingham Forest are interested in Charlton striker Simon Church. #nffc #cafc
  • Do Nottm Forest ever stop signing strikers!?

  • What on earth do Forest see in Simon Church??
  • Seems this loan window is going the same way as the transfer window...we desperately need strengthening, but end up losing players instead...

I'm concerned that Katrien and Roland might be finding the English transfer market a tad more difficult than they imagined. Roland's overt anti-agent stance won't help matters, either.
  • They can have church and we can take mackie

yes, because RM would never tell an eager bunch of fans what they wanted to hear...........

What does anyone see in him ?? the only thing with the likes of Forest & Derby is that they have other strikers who can score, so it doesn't matter much to them if he just runs around causing a nuisance. We haven't got that luxury and need forwards who can find the back of the net REGULARLY.

  • on a slightly different note, but still on the theme of loan signings, I cant believe some of the loans signings other clubs manage to acquire. Watching the Everton v Swansea FA Cup match both Ross Barkley of Everton & Kyle Bartley of Swansea (whoi both had excellent games) have had stints in the Championship over the past year and then there is Joss Mccrechan (sp) out on loan & Sheff Wed have just signed a Villa player and now looking at Leon Best as well.

these aren't exceptions, I'm sure if you look down the list of Championship teams you'll find most have at least 1 player from a Premiership club. The only decent loan signing from a higher division club that I can recall us signing is Alex Song (don't mention Frimpong.......) and over the last few years we have had countless of has beens and never will be's (Seabiscuit & Lee Cook are just 2 that spring to mind)

So, please bear with me if I don't get too excited if we sign a 35 yr old journeyman from QPR or a 18 yr old from Outer Mongolia..................

Chalobah at Forest earlier this year is another example.
  • I suspect Best and SWP were the 2 players RM was talking about ,I think we are going to have to just get on with it now.

It's an under 21 player, very little first team experience but highly rated (i'm sure they say that about everyone).

No idea if it's for loan, assume Saints wouldn't want / need to sell him but just don't know.

Andy Robinson from Southampton starting for CAFC U21's tonight vs Ipswich, was training with us all last week assuming with a view to loan deal.

  • Who else is playing ?
  • Matty Fryatt is still available. Maybe we can get Stewart back if Leeds don't renew his loan.

Think it might be that he been told he can find a new club. Age and pedigree fits the new policy ? We' re probably having a look and so is he.

    Pure guesswork I might add.
