No matter how big my bollox grow and how much I jump up and down in the stands it won't alter the fact that at present the team is not good enough and is in very real danger of getting relegated unless that changes. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
still SCP to me mate but its very difficult to justify the title when his record this season is not good enough, so until the tide turns I think its worth while dropping the S
there seems to be little acceptance of the difficulties he has with the squad he has and no support from the previous regime financially, I disagree that Sordell was not Powells choice I think he was however, I also believe we haven't paid anything for him yet so people saying he wasted what he was given is incorrect also
back him or sack him is the phrase often used and I believe that we are at this junction
We dropped Alnwick and Hamer for that joke of a keeper ?
No, Alnwick ill, and Hamer injured, where have you been all afternoon?
What makes Thuram a joke of a keeper then? Thrown in at the deep end and made some outstanding saves apparently, I'll reserve judgement on the goal until I have seen it!

.
WRONG
we played him because Alnwick was taken ill and Hamer is injured
The joke of a keeper who maybe should have done better with the goal and subsequently made 2-3 good saves and one brilliant save?. Yep that's him.
I read somewhere that the ball took a wicked bounce right in front of him for the goal. I haven't seen a reply so cannot clarify this but if it is the case maybe we should be a little less hard on him.
Also Thuram was thrown straight into the side last minute (possibly) due to the absence of Alnwick.
Fear for us now as sheff weds Barnsley Doncaster Yeovil millwall all seem to have upped their game and can all see points on the horizon where I really don't see where our next point is!

Some of you need to calm down a bit
Ermmmmm...I'm defending him. There is only one person on the thread referring to him as a joke.
just home from the match, haven't read anything about it so here'e my take on it
with the exception of the last 15 minute it was one of the most boring games I've seen for a long time, both teams could bore for England, slow ponderous build ups, passing back and sideways, just boring, guess our goalie fell asleep, and yes I think he was partly to blame for the goal but in the 2nd half he kept us in it and he can kick accurately. Besides him none shone, Cousins and Harriott were light weight, even in mid field JJ was too slow and when Green came on they hardly game him the ball. As the sending off, it looked like a card but red maybe a bit harsh, however the ref was quite good throughout.
We usually loose at Boro, nothing new, nothing to panic about
oh yes the other new guy - played in the middle and whilst a bit rusty looks a useful acquisition
Charlton struggle without Solly. Wilson is a league one standard right back and when Solly does not play the right midfield weakness is doubly exposed because Wilson is pulled out of that position.
Any news on why Solly wasn't playing ?
Without Solly or the loss of one of our key players through injuries / loss of form / sale and without strengthening striker and right midfield positions there is a very strong risk of relegation. This has been stated 100s of times. No evidence that Duchalet is interested or is listening.
Disappointed that Dom Dwyer wasn't signed at the managements request. Still hoping to see a sign that Duchalet does not see Charlton as Standard Liege B or is bothered or even understands the very strong risk that the club will be relegated to league one.
I think if Roland has someone lined up then Chris may be out this week. I don't think Roland will act though if he hasn't already thought through a replacement. The last thing he would want is a team without a leader.
All this 'Powell Out', 'Powell In' stuff is nonsense. All I want is for Charlton to get better. Let's face it, everything is pretty dire at the moment. Roland is here now and he'll want us to push forward and if that means taking a different approach and replacing the management then so be it. I'm not going to fight that. At the end of the day, it's imperative we stay up this season so we can regroup during the summer on and off the field. Relegation would not be a good thing.

I know. I was just adding some weight to you comment. Apologies for the confusion. My remarks were not aimed at you.

Listening to what people are saying, the two additions from SL actually sounded pretty good. I would say that is a good sign that Roland knows his stuff a bit. It was unfortunate that the goal came when the goalie newbe hadn't even had a chance to touch the ball. He seemed to redeem himself once he got into the game.
If C.P does go, I feel he will be replaced by a foreign manager as R D will not be familiar with English ones.
I think that Duchalet wants a coach, his own man who is agreement to fit in the players from his other teams. He does not want a manager. I suspect that Duchalet wants to play Euro football manager from his lap top in Liege. What decent manager are you going to get who is going to put up with some one else telling him who to play and who to put in the team ?
Have sympathy for Chris Powell who did well with the investment given at the start of the Slater - Cash / Jimensz reign. I will be disappointed if CP is not given a chance. Not allowing him to strengthen is not giving him a chance. Not being able to bring in Dom Dwyer shows the direction it is heading. It will not be an easy job to keep Charlton up with another manager, whos players are fiercely loyal to the previous manager and will feel that they have no future at the club under the new manager. All this on a Duchalet mandate that involves little investment.
Still looking for reasons that the Duchelat takeover will be positive for Charlton. Not seeing any substantial evidence so far. Still looking for reasons to be cheerful.
I actually don't think Roland has a plan for Charlton at this stage which is borne out by his obsession with buying clubs. It all seems very odd to me. A bit like someone adopting 5 kids from 5 different continents. . . . .and not planning to live with any of them. Do you know what I mean and why this situation has me worried?
Regarding quality and our first team squad I suggest we are the weakest in the Championship. Church, Cook, Green and Harriott in my opinion no better than Championship 1 players. 7/8 players carrying the rest.

Agree that as supporters we must help the team to fight for every point.
