I was very impressed by Palmer in last season's FA Youth Cup tie against Chelsea, but even so I'm surprised he seems to be making such rapid progress. Makes his move even more disappointing.
Well done Palmer I say. Only needs to get ahead of Hazard, Shurrle, Van Buyton, Lampard, Willian, Oscar, Mata and some others I am no doubt forgetting to realise his potential. Good move for English football and should be encouraged more often.
Mourinho said yesterday he wants another English Chelsea contingent to come through so don't be too surprised to see him pushed through as another of theirs.
He'll probably be playing League One football in a few years like those two ex-Leeds boys who thought it would be a good idea to move to the Chelsea Youth Academy.
I noticed as well that Isaiah Brown(?) signed for Chelsea from West Brom in the summer who would probably have been in the WBA first team this year too had he stayed.

When are these kids / parents gonna learn??
When clubs like Man U, Chelsea, Man C, etc stop offering/paying £??? wages ?
What are the FA rules around signing U18's given Palmer was, I believe U18 when Chelsea poached him.
Under the rules of EPPP we didn't get very much for him. Rules are designed so that big clubs take chances on younger English players rather than foreign youngsters.
