Lots of huff and puff but lets be realistic, we were the better of two poor sides on the day in poor conditions. They had a five minute spell and managed to score twice, one from a rare defensive mistake in Solly turning in on the cross and the other from a good free kick that should/would have been saved in most cases. Contrast Button's cock up with Forde's save from Harriot (and being so quick off his line to beat Yann to the ball when put clean through) and we would probably have been two up before they even got a sniff.
Depressed as much as everyone else to get beat by the poorer team but tbh I was living in hope more than expectation anyway.
Anyone telling Powell to fuck off can, themselves, fuck off.
Is CP beyond reproach then?
That's not what I said.
Someone earlier on this thread said they wanted Powell to fuck off. I think that's stupid. Powell should be criticised, of course. But to want him out is idiocy.
They have played 3 games in 7 days, had suspensions/injuries to key players, made a sub for the centre back 10-15 mins in, had to reshuffle the back four.
We have a full squad to choose from on the back of a good away win and we still cant beat them. Wont get a better chance than today.

Like all the other posts on here, it's just someones opinion.
Entirely predictable. It was a Saturday in SE7 and we know what that means.
We are the worst home side in the championship with 18 pts from 19 matches and just four wins.
It is clear that Powell doesn't know why we are rubbish at The Valley, or what to do about it, because far from stopping the rot it is actually getting worse - one point from the last 15 at the Valley.
Difficult to believe there were 18,000 there today. There must have been a lot of s/t holders who didn't bother going included in that figure. Not because they were cowed by Millwall's thuggish fans, but because they knew what the result was going to be before they got out of bed this morning.
I don't know if that counts as a knee jerk. But most of us expect to lose when we play at home and this team keeps on proving us right.
Its not the fans...we have been the same for years now and are a patient civilised lot on the whole
Powell wants to be liked so much that he transfers that pressure onto the players before the game and intelligent play goes out the window
Powell is wedded to that out of date tunnel dance he did when a player when we win...which now puts him under increased pressure as a manager when we don't win.
Memo to Powell: stop trying too hard to please us. Just do the job, you are not a player anymore and don't be frightened to try new things and upset a few people if you feel you are right.
Thought we were the better side in the first half and was fairly confident at HT. Harriott's strike from some way out produced a good save from Forde. I had a feeling they might score, but thought we were dominant more or less up until they scored. Then we fell to pieces and looked like we weren't going to get back in. Thought Pritchard made some good moves and for once wasn't out muscled a lot. Solly wasn't as good as usual, thought Taylor and Morro had good games, after today think there are question marks over Button, couldn't see how much at fault he was for their first, but their second looked soft. Kerm was up for it clearly, and his flick on early on in the game was a statement of intent that sadly wasn't realised. Gutted we lost, but it wasn't a walkover. Just wish we looked like we might score. At least I've got one more away to look forward to as I suspect we will roll over again in every other home
I also couldnt understand how shittu wasnt just out muscling haynes. He was beating him to the ball. I thought haynes would have ran him ragged in a foot race
Gutless? Are you sure? For the first hour were the better side and had a few decent chances. We seemed to win most of the 50-50s and were flying into the challenges. Once they took the lead we fell apart. I can't comment on much more after that as I decided the aggro in the upper west was more entertaining. Saw a Millwall fan get punched by a woman.
It's no use saying we were the better of two poor sides. Clearly we weren't or we would have won. Week in week out at home we are second best.
What the players need to do now is offer to pay for the tickets and travel for say Barnsley. It's a game we will need to win and they need to show they understand that: 4 home wins out of 20, no cup runs while both our rivals (probably) will be playing at Wembley, and one point out of 4 derbies, just ain't acceptable. Even if they were all just L1 standard players (which the away performances have shown they clearly aren't) it wouldn't be acceptable. A meaningful apology is needed.
Game was there for the taking - we couldn't score, they did and as others have said, our heads then just dropped.
Given all the safety issues, it would be interesting to know what the position is about who is allowed in the hospitality boxes during these sort of higher risk games. Not sure the woman celebrating one of the Millwall goals in front of one of the boxes in the East Stand would have helped the mood, and leaving at the end if was clear that there were quite a few Millwall fans in another box as well.
As a hacked off five year season ticket holder - so they've had my money for next year - who then has to take a roundabout route home, you are just with the feeling that the club really doesn't give much of a toss about its own fans.
I'm with Oggy. Nothing went for us. Almost impossible to play football on that pitch, so you just have to take your chances, they did, we didn't. Their two loan signings made yesterday, Chapstow and Easter, made the difference. We need someone to dictate the play in midfield, it's all too frenetic, not enough quality but plenty of endeavor. The amount of running and challenges that Pritchard made was incredible. With someone like Andy Reid we would be a different team as he controls the pace of the game and can pick a decisive pass.
My pick of the posts so far.
Very down at the minute but didn't really expect to get anything from the game.
As at Selhurst, the after match slog back to the car only rubbed our noses in it.
We just need to get those last few points to see us to safety and plan for next season. PLEASE let SCP have some funds to strengthen this hardworking but limited in some areas squad.
Fucking awful and wound up today that we didnt bother with the cup again when a club like them had a go and will have another day at wembley and maybe even European football if they win.
Before the game I said that I would of picked Hamer, Green and Dervite for Button, Wilson and Pritchard.
I know it's ifs and buts but I think those 3 may have made a real difference today.
Hamer has for the majority of the season been excellent and we conceded two soft goals today, Green has delivery second to none in the team and quality delivery into the box is something we were lacking today. Dervite I think is a solid presence in the middle and is more technically able than Pritchard who can run and run but can get out muscled and isn't the most technically gifted.
As with everyone else I'm disappointed today, maybe one thing to remember is that it took us one shit season in League 1 under Powell before an excellent one. I'm confident and not sure why that next year will be a different story to this one and we will genuinely be challenging for the playoffs, keep the faith!

But did you see it? Honestly, at half time nobody was criticizing their effort or commitment. I think Wilson had a stinker and Haynes bottled it against Shittu, but otherwise, what would you have had CP do? Some say Stephens, but last time he played he was utter shite. Fuller clearly isn't interested, so no point starting him either. I doubt Gower would have been a game changer either. Not that kind of player. 34 years old, unlike Chaplow, and short of match fitness.

Too annoyed to post anything constructive.

As somebody else said, how anyone can fault Jackson today, of all of them, words fail me.
Fact remains, not good enough after their first went in. Why, and what to do about it with this squad, I have no idea.
Stonewall penalty after 15 minutes, Shittu on Morrison. Didn't just climb on him, virtually buried him.
Never ever called for powells head so shut the fuck up

A horrible 2-0 defeat in front of a rubbish atmosphere while that lot song wembley songs
Does anyone want tonight's lottery numbers...
If you know your history you should know not to predict a charlton win in this fixture
Have I just made haynes the scapegoat for today
Chris you're a legend and I love you as much as any supporter, but we need more insight from our manager than a wish upon a star!
Only 5 or 6 players actually played for the shirt the rest were woeful

Hate how we're such a bunch of mugs against that lot.

Shit game, season over.
Pathetic bottle jobs bar pritchard today.
