Why can't he fucking understand that 4 5 fucking 1 won't work at home!!!! We haven't got the midfield to attack away teams using that formation, both wingers are nothing more than work horses!!! All three cm's aren't technically gifted enough to play that free role behind the striker. Honestly. Sometimes I feel I could manage charlton better
Bit over the top but in many ways, I agree. Certainly Haynes' pace would have served us better in the couple of breaks we had first half - Wagstaffe neither quick enough o clever enough. Kermo should be ashamed of what he did - ref had no choice but red. CP may have had a 'rope-a-dope' game plan - let them throw the kichen sink at us thn we hit them on the counter, but Kermo put pay to that. What a difference when Fuller and Haynes came on. Forced them to defend that bit deeper and the world was a different place. The players had lost the game in their minds before kick off when they should have been buzzing after Tuesday night - a very negative set up. Congrats to Forest for some very sweet and entertaining footie, greatly assisted by our midfield returning the hard-won ball back to them at every opportunity. Bad day at the office - next game - start afresh.
Forest have a lot of very good players, and if they had been more settled behind the scenes during the last 2 years, would probably have been fighting for the top 2.
It was quite reassuring though, watching the FL show, when the commentator said that the defeat was a blow for our fading playoff hopes...

I think if Davis had not left in the first place I think they would be even be a Premier League club now.
so I think at least 52 points may be needed and maybe even close to 55. I've written this season off and just looking towards next season to see how on earth we are going to improve the squad - either by a cash injection or by a new manager using the players he has at hand IN THEIR CORRECT POSITIONS.
Agree that 55 should be the target but the board have stated 8th - 11th what are the consequences of 14-17th?
The red card was called correctly as per virtually everyone who has seen the replay (no one has called out their twat of a left back who slapped Kermorgant earlier and who made several fouls deserving of a yellow.
Golf I have already supplied you with a link to the FA coaching scheme if you want to learn about the game! Anyone at Leicester or following the game on here would not be calling out Powell for poor use of resources.
I could go on but that is for another time and perhaps another format - put very simply we must stay 100% Powell - careful what you wish for !
First goal Solly was nuts'd and I presume Waggy was fouled cos he just disintegrated , Hamer needs some time out of the firing line cos his confidence is shot to bits he was prolly shocked the ball bounced properly on the only bit of grass on the pitch , hence the fumble ! Kermo's red for lashing out was correct even if a bit annoying ... I think we're punching above our weight midtable , nothing throughout the season has been truly convincing to me and I believe we have basically a shit squad that SCP has gotten to over perform this season and I'll be happy with 4th bottom. I'm not sure anyone could improve us, so either investment happens or next season will make this one look like a belter.
I thought we'd get more points at home than away and that doesn't look like it'll happen now .... Have we ever had a better away record than home record in our history before ??
0%Top 6 ...... 20% 7th-12th .....65% 13th-21st ..... 15% the dreaded R
Wasn't there, but I have to say in response to the majority of views, that I recently saw us get outplayed and out passed in the majority of games that I saw. However there were games ie against Blackpool where we nicked a goal and then looked a totally different team. The whole game changed in an instant and we finished the better team. Goals can sometimes do that. But it was game over once Kermy walked. Such a key player, and against an in form and very good side in Forest. I'm just so sick of this "he kicked out, so had to go" attitude. So what! was Halford badly hurt? Why can a player no longer exibit any sign of anger, frustration, passion etc by retaliating. Is this still a man's game, or is it sanitised to the point where any contact is no longer permitted. Oh I know, them's the rules, well change the stupid rules then! Book the bloke, then send him off if he does it again, rather than ruin the game for 17000 people. I don't like Aussie rules or rugby, but at least those games recognise the importance of physical contact in a man's game and allow the occasional discreet act of revenge.

Queensland - spot on - 100%. I said to my son before the Red card was shown that Kermo was in big trouble here but, as usual, the inflexible rules meant he had to go. So, the game was ruined for all because of it - it became a non-contest when a yellow card would have been enough and Kermo would have had to be a good boy after that. We travelled from Ipswich and had really been looking forward to the game as my lad is at Nottingham Uni. Equally disappointing was the 4-5-1 formation (sure CP had his reasons) but we had no pace up front. Our passing was woeful - I have rarely seen a midfielder pass the ball so badly as Stephens and Dervite wasn't far behind - kept giving the ball air when he should have played it on the floor - this meant that by the time the ball reached our player he was already closed down. Maybe they're over training? They looked tired and seemed to approach the game with no self belief which, after a great win on Tuesday, was odd. CP is a good manager and he's looking to build - patience is needed but CP must be very disappointed with what he got from his players yesterday. Personally would have started 4-4-2 with Haynes up front to force them to defend deeper - that would have made it very different - but it's easy in hindsight. Kermo let hs team mates down with his rush of blood. COYR!
IMO the best interests of the game, it's players and it's supporters are not served by the present system. A sin bin for a limited period for such trivial offences, or even an enforced substitution would be far more appropriate and maintain the integrity of the game. I'm wondering whether this is an issue that the supporters trust's around the country could take on, Razil ???
It's about time that instead of the announcer desperately pleading "you know what you've got to do, make some noise for the boys," he should say "you know what you've got to do, play some football for the season ticket holders."
Queensland, it has taken many years to get goal line technology. Hopefully, once that's established, the powers-that-be can look at the concept of fan entertainment - sin bin being vital, imo.
Cardinal - nice one. I am at a loss as to what these guys do in training but yesterday they appeared to have lost even the basics - how to pass, move and support. The pitch was very poor but it didn't stop Forest spraying the ball around - and on the floor! Forest also had a player to pass to - an option - again basic stuff. Not an ST holder, but point taken. I'm thinking that the players may be nervous about playing in front of the home crowd as we have seen many times before and not just at Charlton. They've played a lot of football in the last 6 months and looked tired and stale. To be fair, when you looked at the Forest bench, you knew we were in for a tough day!
After paying to watch that! Watch the attendance drop big time this weekend? I for one am already thinking about giving it a miss and we have season tickets! Certainly wouldn't pay again this weekend.
Point taken but was more concerned with the 1 up front. Ironically, had Kermo been playing in a front two, he might not have got so frustrated and might have still been on the park at the end? So, Dervite was holding mid, cum 3rd CH. Maybe that was the plan but saw him in the centre circle quite a bit - had he been holding or dropping deep it might have snuffed out the threat of Andy Reid a bit more - preventing those threaded passes between and behind the Centre backs. To be fair, Junior commented to me fairly early on that Forest had a defined and organised shape whereas we were all over the shop. A very good Forest side who played Premiership style and looked comfortable with it
So why can't we get organised in training and find a formation that works while at sparrows lane during the week and bring that to the valley at weekends? Kermo plays the same when he's up front on his own winning the then flick
floydroad - well I went in the ground with 80 quid - paid my daughter's boyfriend for the tickets, bought Junior a T shirt in the Club shop, a bacon roll and 2 coffees later, the wallet was empty and the 80 quid gone. On top of that, petrol to and from Ipswich - so over 100 quid. Had Kermo been given a yellow or sent to a much-needed sin bin, would have been money well spent but the Red screwed it for all of us - and the game is supposed to be for the entertainment of the paying fans!

A very good question. I remember visiting Sparrows Lane in Prem days and watching a small-sided game (maybe 7 or 9 a side?) - JJ, Lisbie, Kiely et al - and the movement and possession was awesome - but on a Saturday, against top opposition, a very different matter. Yesterday we were up against that type of quality and with little time on the ball, early mistakes and loss of possession can and do set the scene for the game - sometimes reversible by changing the formation but when Kermo went CP was scuppered.
couldn't agree more with u purdis about the cost and entertainment issues but yesterday the 0 points to us would have been the same if kermo had stayed on. At home the one up front doesn't work.I love the French man but he needs someone to work up front with to appeciate all the headers he wins and the flick ons he does?

I was working on the assumption that CP had a masterplan and that he would move to 4-4-2 or 4-1-3-2 as the game settled down. Haynes has the pace and work rate to become the 4th midfielder when not in possession, the wide player when in possession and the striker when through the middle.
Trouble is that game would not have settled down as we were on the backfoot from the first whistle. Agree that Haynes is good and can team up with kermo well.
We have an average side, doing ok. They have a very good squad. Didn't test their keeper in 37 mins, so I knew it was going to be one of those days.
I love Kermy, but I don't understand the clapping, chanting as he trudges off, after letting his manager, team and fans down.
Shouldn't boo him, just let him walk off. I don't see CP clapping him or patting him on the back before he goes down the tunnel? Yes we love his passion, but today, it was a very stupid thing to do.
My thoughts were -Forest passed well and were quick in the challenge. They definitely looked better than us, but we did have the option of changing things.
Understand perfectly why we started with 4-5-1, probably would have done so myself after Tuesday - but there is always a risk it won't be successful, especially at home, and I think after 20-25 minutes, you can see if it is going to work or not. I would have changed things at that point and brought on Fuller for Dervite. Other options were available, but the bench had lots of options for a new tack.
Forest played very well and it would have been tough whatever I suspect, but was the 4-5-1 ever going to suddenly spring into life in that match. In Powell's defence, they weren't creating clear cut chances for all their good play so you could see how holding on until half time was a valid tactic- and the changes he would surely have made could have been explained/presented to the players in more detail, so we addressed the issues we needed to.
As a result though, Kermogant - who was working his socks off, got frustrated and did a silly thing. I didn't feel it was a sending off, but it was silly and petulant. We had no chance from that point - they were probably the last side in this league you'd want to go down to 10 against.
Having said all that, both goals were mistakes. The first was the first error from Solly this season - it was clearable. The second was more concerning, because Solly probably won't make another for quite a while but Hamer has been making a few too many of late, after looking like he was going up a level. It is merely concentration and something the coaches need to address. I tell my son, who is a budding keeper - the best keepers are the ones that make fewest mistakes. Obvious, I know, but there are a lot of highly rated keepers who make too many mistakes - the England keeper is one of them IMO. It is no good making a couple of great saves and then letting in a soft one.
Critism of Stephens in that match is understandable but in his defence, I thought he was trying to find killer balls and wasn't getting the movement from his team mates he needed in forward positions. This meant he had to dwell on the ball longer and got caught out. It also meant passes went astray. I think it is a positive that he looks for the pass though and he needs a bit of help sometimes.
Woeful easily the worst I have seen this season. I am begining to think we have two sets of playesr with the same names one lot plays away the other at home. Stephens was beyond terrible he didn't hit one red shirt all half, Waggy, Pritchard and Dervite were out of their depth only Wiggins and Jackson played to their full potential even Solly has a bad(ish) day for him.
the Fact that Yann got sent off for what was an act of stupidity made ten times worse by the reaction of Halford and the Forest players killed th game dead and frankly the fact that it was only 2-0 in the end was a miracle because we hardly had the ball when we had 11 on the pitch!
The team was set up negatively from the start and we paid the price for it. May not bother on Saturday I am that pissed off with watching this crap.

You can usually tell this when they start 'the match'......
Dervite nigh on ended up the third centre half within 2 mins.
