...Doubtless Powell will be slagged off for taking St Stephens off but I disagree...
Actually, despite the dire performance on the pitch I haven't noticed much criticism of Powell today. Personally I think he got all three subs right. At the end of the day 1. None of the team looked up for it from the off 2. Forest played well 3. losing Yann was the final nail in the coffin. Other than doing a better job of motivating them from the off, I'm not sure what CP could possibly have done that would have brought about a better result.
awful-------------------stepens, caught with the ball 3 time in first 20min and pased the ball to no one 3 times in same period Devitt --or what ever his name is --------FFS i have seen dave Shiperley pass a ball better--------------CP how the f--k do you think this guy is good enough ? Prtichard---------------what is he supposed to be doing ? nothing is what i saw today f++k all.
Devitt and Pritchard were still on the pitch when i left toady -----why FFS why ?
800 games-ish but today was up there with worst------------from kick off i had no belief we would win .Yan geting sent off when he was our only forward-------------just what was out reponce CP ? nothing at all !!! so we played what was left of the first half with actually no one up front at home !!!
It wasn't about the formation or how good the players are technically. They just didn't look interested today. No commitment or urgency despite getting outplayed from the first minute. If there was a bit more fight we might have had a chance to combat it but as it was it was awful to watch. And this a criticism based on just todays match not in general.
I get your frustration Norfolk, but for me Charlton were just out classed today. I dont think you can accuse them of not trying.Which Charlton players could get into the Forest team? Solly, maybe Wiggins??? They wouldn't want any others.
Generally speaking, I thought it was a real shame Dale got ironic cheers when he (finally) completed a pass today. He and the rest of the team knew they were being battered- it didn't need sarcasm from the home crowd to rub it in. I know everyone pays to get in and has a right to vent their frustrations, but that just seemed wrong, especially when confidence was already quite fragile among the players.
11 v 11 I thought was set for a nil nil. Yes they had the possession but they created f all. The incident that got kermorgant sent off didn't look much from where i was sitting but I stand to be corrected. The reaction of the forest players and the Lino running on to tell tales really fu'.,@ me off, makes me wonder sometimes why I bother watching football. We were shite before the sending off, no urgency, panic when we got the ball in midfield. Dervite & Stephens were shocking and when you have two of your midfield playing like novices you ain't got much chance. Pritchard wasn't a lot better today. We badly need someone in the midfield who can inject pace, forest had it and looked dangerous every time they upped the tempo. At home, we are too one paced.
Posting without reading, apologies if it's all been said. The Yann sending off made a tough task ten times worse. I don't know what happened but it must have been graphic to be seen by the lino 50yardsaway. The referee is a very inexperienced one.

Yep, cheering correct passes when they happened didn't help.
First note on the pad of every opponent's scout when watching CAFC 'dodgy keeper, no command of area, poor decision-making in tight situations. Close him down at clearance-kicks from hand. Plenty of free headers for our centre-backs and kicks straight out of play to wings'. Even when Hamer does call to claim the ball it's not certain he actually wants it.

Good point. That annoys me more than when people boo, also the ironic cheers when Cort had a go. OK he's no wizard but an honest pro who deserves better
when did that start then ? maybe after paying £22 on a freezing cold day some of us expected to see so called professional players who could actually pass a ball 6 feet! or tackle--or close down---or not get caught with the ball everytime they had it
lets stop slagging off the fans some 16,000 where there today. The players were shit today not the fans
Feel sorry for Dervite - he is not a midfielder and never will be at this and i don't think we bought him as one. We really need a defensive/holding midfielder.
The worst home display under CP. We were outclassed before Yann went off and afterwards it was farcically one sided. It is embarrassing to play 4-5-1 at home and have the oppo pass it around you. Away it is a tactic that can have a stupefying effect on the home support, but if the same happens at home then you are in trouble. I don't remember us having a shot on target, which I think might be a first in my 40 years of supporting. Afterwards had a couple of pints in Beckenham and watched Millwall win to the delight of their Burberry clad army. Great day.

Took my seat saw the line up and thought where is the goal threat. When half the Forest team were trying to push Yann into the stand where were his mates .Mind you he was up front on his own so may has well take them on his own as well. I understand the need for a certain amount of cautiousness but this was ridiculous.I would rather stick pins in my eyes than to watch that again.
Thought a booking for both players would have been fairer. But as Henry Irving says it was a fair sending off who am I to disagree.
But Chris Powell says it was a clear sending off and he's in the West stand.
So disagree with me as much as you like but when a manager, any manager, says one of his own players being sent off is fair then it is.
Henry I think CP said that he wasn't sure until he saw the idea thn he thought it was a sending off. I haven't seen it yet but it does sound as though it was fair even if it was disappointing.
Didn't go today but I am so disappointed after reading the comments from those that did. Only been to one home game this year against Barnsley and if it was worse than that game then it must have been really bad. My brother keeps pestering me to go to the Valley with him again this year but after reading the reports from today's game I don't think I will bother. Don't get me wrong it is not that we are losing but simply the way we are playing. Respect to those who go week in, week out I really don't know how you put up with performances like that. I have been going to the Valley on and off for many years now and I don't think I can remember a season where we have been this bad at home. I will try to get to a couple more games this year but they will definitely be away from the Valley.
PS After seeing Forest outplay us at the City ground earlier this year I thought they were certs for promotion. They are a very good side and have underperformed so far this year....except against us it seems!
TBH I thought we were worse against Ipswich, certainly the first half and worse against Wednesday and Birmingham. Forest were simply better than us in most positions and played better as a team.

Spot on. Why should we bother turning up if they can't. I am fully aware our team is limited but that was unacceptable today. some of the stuff they tried today wasn't that far off the dark days of the relegation season. Still annoyed now 6 hours after the game.
As I said on the preview before the game, we are still far from safe. Safety or not will probably depend on the last game of the season. Hard to feel confident about a side with such a woeful home record. All it takes is the away bubble to burst and we're back in League 1.
Feel sorry for Dervite - he is not a midfielder and never will be at this and i don't think we bought him as one. We really need a defensive/holding midfielder.
And have for two seasons.
We had one and allegedly didn't offer him the money to stay
In all seriousness, a limited defensive midfielder only really works in a 5 man midfield (as devite should have done today). Semedo was Wednesday fans' king and now isn't deemed champ material (as we told them two years ago).
Fair play to Andy Reid and Forest for seeing that we were beaten and going easy on us at the end. They could have done more but recognised fellow professionals that didn't have a hope. Hamer made mistakes but so did every other player in a red shirt and Hamer wasn't the worst out there today. There did seem to be a desire lacking from the very start, don't know why but everything was flat (except the pitch ha ha ha).
We were terrible today. I will always defend our manager and players but nobody comes close to earning any sort of defence for the performance. Stephens had a 'mare, Derivte did not find a red shirt with a pass all day. Pritchard did his best. He tries to make up for his lack of finesse with hard running and today he looked a boy amongst men. I actually think our back four did ok, they just had nothing in front of them. Sat in the West stand it looked as though Kermorgant 'swiped' rather than kicked Halford but it was a silly thing to do.
Now, reality time. Whilst we played awfully, please do take the opportunity to compare our team vs there's player for player. There was a gulf in class that cannot be ignored. Their bench was probably worth more than our starting11. For a premiership comparison I would pitch it as us (Norwich) vs them (Arsenal). We have to accept that this squad of players is no more than a bottom third team. We have endeavour and guts and effort...but very little skill or relative ability. Forest played beautifully at times, but that is because eh have the tactical nous and ability. How many of our players have played in thePrem? Cort and Fuller? They had Ward, Greening,Cox, Sharp, Reid, Lansbury...all of them have played a the top level.
We were outclassed but also contributed to our own downfall. But we have something about us surely to beat Watford,Leicester,Cardiff shows that. And for an example of how topsy turfy this league is look at Tuesday's results to today's. how many teams won on Tuesday but lost today and vice versa? Hull, Millwall, Peterborough, Barnsley, Huddersfield...we are one of a large number of inconsistent teams in this league.
Dear Tony. Thanks for inviting me to fork out £440big ones by 8 April for my season ticket without any indication that I'll be watching anything different from today. Right - oh! Pay as you go for me next year until something changes.

this was awful from first min to last,
Yes I thought the introduction of Obika in the 92nd minute was a potential game changer.
Or was it just to boost the lad's confidence to have him partake in Charltons worst home performance since Saint Parky of hoofball?

Pitch-shocking

Far too much scapegoating here for my liking, although with a red card and errors for goals it's easy to see why.
