So how do we reduce the vandalism/violence ?

Suggestion 1

Future flashpoint games against the likes of Millwall & Palace away should be S/T & Valley Gold only, 1 per person.
This should stop the majority of trouble as I would guess, most of the trouble was caused by non S/T holders, whether they were Charlton supporters or their mates who support other clubs.

I have no doubt anyone that is not a S/T holder will strongly disagree, but that's the consequence of having tickets going on general sale & S/T holders giving tickets to their mates, when you can purchase more than one each.

I'm only suggesting this for the "flashpoint" games.

IE Fulham A we took 7000 ? & no real problems, as Fulham aren't known for trouble, so the troublemakers didn't want to go.

  • someone has had too much time on their hands this afternoon
  • Catch them and string them up by the balls is my first thought.

    ?

  • The club should be more concerned with how easy it will be for millwall to be in all areas of of stadium as they are every time as were Leeds

There is lots of precautions being taken by the club with regards to crowd control segregation outside and road closures

But if the club don't step up their security brief and ticket allocations all will be pointless

Thing is once they are in the club officials OB and stewards will do nothing to get them out there will be tear ups in the ground caused by the clubs inability to act upon known fact

So the 99.9% of non s/t's who went and caused no trouble should be banned because of the actions of a very, very small minority ?

Destroying property is illegal so anyone responsible should be prosecuted. The clubs ability to influence behaviour can only extend so far, I think enforcing the law may be overstepping the mark and its a question for the police.
  • Wasn't there a fair few of ours on banning orders and restrictions anyway for both millwall and the shit striped feckas

    So it changes little

I would rather the support we had sat with people able to get tickets then the days of absurd restrictions of old . This new regime seem to have got rid of that old caper so well done on that

I would dispute the fact that 99.9% of any "supporters" there caused no trouble. That would mean only 30 "supporters" caused trouble, which is not true. There were more like a 100 minimum that were "up for it". Take them out & you reduce the problem massively.
I'm no wall flower & many would say that my behaviour isn't perfect, but I draw the line at smashing seats, toilets, cars & jumping into food kiosks and throwing beer around etc. That is pure hooliganism & I differentiate that from standing your ground, when oppo fans, want to have a pop at you.
  • I have had a season ticket for the last few seasons but I probably won't be renewing next year as I have missed too many games this season due to the distance. By the time I include petrol money and beer money it works out too expensive to go to every game. But why should my choice be taken away because of some probably non Charlton fans who are only out to cause trouble?

I agree, it will be harsh on many of our good supporters, who don't want to cause trouble.
What is a better alternative ?
  • Not going to happen those days of silly restrictions are well and truly gone . This is a new charlton set up

Don't think so. The Rd were kettled in the ground V Hudds. The policing & restrictions are getting tougher & after Saturday, there is no way IMO, you will have the same set up at Palace A next season.

Likely to be ticket restrictions & an early KO.
  • FFS its a South London derby with a lot of history. Why is everyone going over the top again. No wonder other fans take the micky out of us. so a few lads had a few shandies and went over the top. It really is pathetic

    Snipers?
  • I don't think it matters in the future the club are going to be more strict with the tickets we were given extra tickets for both millwall and palace won't be happening again

How it is now is a better alternative.

Police/steward the day properly and it will literally be a handful of people who step out of line which will always happen at any derby match
  • Sorry matters what fans think
  • I'm talking about our club . They will sell tickets normally to season ticket holders and red card holders . The days of stupid restrictions and struggling to sell out at palace are gone . The players love seeing full away ends
  • It took the likes of Millwall,Cardiff etc years to introduce the 'membership scheme' or whatever it was called (with a hell of a lot more trouble). I doubt that 2 games of trouble in one season will lead to restrictions of our own taking place.

  • Anyone who thinks making millwall at home a early kick off will make it less trouble needs there head checking . Should of kept it at three
  • More time for those that wish to too return IMO or do what they want where they want
  • They will be on the piss from about eight instead of ten that's all a early kick off has changed
  • Bad behaviour and vandalism are bound to affect our ticket allocations for these local derbies.

What chance do you think we ve got of getting the lower tier again at the toolbox next season ?
  • And will still meet and do what they want and have more time to return

Am I to understand that some mass disturbance Happend at the toolbox that I missed from my seat in the lower tier

Nothing happend at millwall nothing really happend sat of real note
  • They don't have to give it but palace will give us 2600 like they do for Millwall so not much difference than sat

I think the Palace tickets were sold on restriction first, as were Millwall, so I'm not sure what you're talking about. The reason there have been fewer restrictions this season is that the away sections are bigger in the Championship. No doubt there will be restrictions for Brighton.

It's quite laughable that the "new regime" would have made changes to the way away tickets are sold. They really couldn't give a toss.
