You could have been 3 nil up in the first half. I was sure we were going to lose. Glad I was proved wrong and taking 6 points off you guys is sweet.
Nice to see you sell out your allocation for once, that what the loudest I've ever heard you guys sing, so well done (though your red and white army song which you sung over and over and over again is a copy of our red & blue army.....) For long periods after you were 1 nil up you seemed quiet to me? Slipping back into old ways I guess, as you lot arent known for your noise.
The smokes and flare looked good.
Gotta agree with the "Red & White army" song, way overdone.
Not just that, but Place actually play the song when they score, woukd be better if we stuck to songs like VFR, kings of the south, build a bonfire and 'kick his head in'

Maybe so but we've got a long way until we get the same result seven times in a row, you guys must've been calling for Dave Jones' head, you fickle northern scamps. :-)
After yesterdays game played in an exceptionally poor stadium, our fans created a very good atmosphere. I believe the team the manager put out out, to a man, played to the very best of their ability. Having bossed the first half with commitment and endeavour we deserved our lead. In the second half Palace started to play good football which they showed no signs of in the first half. Once this happened it was quite apparent they had a number of players with more creativity than us. They easily linked up with their front men especially in the last third of the pitch. We could could not combat this. Our M/F were very short on class and creativity, unable to link up with the very good Fuller. That was the main difference. Although we could have been 2 or 3 up in the first half but for a few good saves from our keeper, we could have easily lost 3 or 4 one in the second. IMO our starting M/F was not good enough, in fact if that were to be our midfield for the remainder of the season we just may find ourselves in a bit of trouble. Of yesterdays starting line up I believe that Hamer, Solly, Morrison, Evina and Fuller showed that they are more than capable of playing at the top level in this division. As for our manager Chris Powell he had the team pumped up for this one and they all did their very best for him and us. Unfortunatley they came up short but it was not due to lack of effort from any of them.
If we stay up this season I'll be happy. We essentially have a team of journeymen - at the start of the season I thought our squad was a lot stronger than I do now. A couple of decent signings could have seen us in with a shout of the playoffs but obviously we're skint. CP can't take all the blame given what he's working with.
They had one yesterday for being t eighteenth in t big time. Mayor Posselthwaite and councillor Amjit Baholli presented t team with t freedom of t Steel City. Very t moving, fair bought a lump to t throat.
Our fans were top draw yesterday, during and after the game. Ignore all this holier than thou crap. The team were great for 3 quarters of the game and the fans won hands down all day. Move on - come next season we will be back on top on the pitch as well. We're already on top off it. Palace and Millwall both know that.
Back to the football....just watched the highlights and I have to say that when you see Fuller score goals like that you start to wonder why he doesn't start every game.
We really have not had a player who could create something out of nothing like that since Darren Bent.

Because he's not been match fit all season & because of his age & slightly excess weight (compared to his prime), he's unlikely to start every game for more than a few games.
Fuller in his prime a few years ago, would have been the best striker in this division by a country mile.

That's all fine, understood, but if we are going to play 4-5-1 then, as much as I love Kermo, Fuller has to be the striker as he can not only hold the ball up but can also go past people and score which is priceless.
Away from home I am happy with 4-5-1 and Fuller up top, at home is a different story though I remain unconvinced that 4-5-1 is wise in home games against anyone but the top sides.
Yeah Fuller is impressive (when fit) but we have more that one decent forward. So perhaps we need to acquire players who can help us play a successful 4-3-3, 5-3-2 or whatever is needed as a plan B when 4-5-1 has worked for an hour and it's time to switch.
You can't play Wilson and 3 defensive midfielders and expect to win. We need a new right winger urgently. Palarse had flair compared to our fuller. Also we can't even defend a 1 goal lead with 8 defensive outfield players

What does Wilson have to do with it? For my money he's been one of the better wingers (I'm editing his time at RB out of my memory) we've had for a long while. Certainly he is trying to get forward and get crosses in, even if not all of them are wonderful.
Didn't go to the match but it is the story of our season so far win a couple lose a couple. Personally I wasn't expecting us to win so I am neither upset or surprised. The most important thing now is to get a good result on Saturday.
It's a shame that our coaching team including the Manager seem unable to trust an attacking line up, even at home or against apparently weaker opposition. Can anyone remember us putting out a team set up to attack, I can't. Makes for a lack of excitement, I think our support has been stupified by this and is starting to accept that we will spend the last minutes of every game in our own half. We need an injection of positivity from somewhere. Even against Gillingham and Welling we seemed to be unable to impose ourselves. We can't have Scott Parker back, but his Brother in law Harry Arter looked the best player on the pitch when he came back. What a pity we let him go.
Haven't read all the posts on here but having been at the game and just thinking about it now, I'm not worried at all. We bossed Palace for 60 minutes and had it not been for missed chances from Jackson and Cort we would have won comfortably. Whatever you think of Palace they have been one of the best sides in the division this season and we dominated that midfield and kept Zaha and Bolasie quiet. It's frustrating throwing a lead away two weeks in a row but Powell will sort that out and we'll be a better team for it. Bring on Birmingham!

Because he is the 'son' of Curbs.
But then, everyone knows that already.
;o)
Lose 2-1
retreat to your caravans and have a good long think about it
