I've been told Maidstone schools have re-opened? I'm in Sevenoaks, been snowing here most of the morning.

I came in from Sevenoaks to East Croydon today, again like Tuesday road i live on and one off it (Brittains Lane) was quite bad but once onto the main road was fine all the way in. Hows it looking? again i will no doubt have the option whether to stay in a hotel or go home, yesterday i went home as had pool night but was fine other then the roads by me.
My kids’ school in Maidstone is closed today and tomorrow, but there are some pretty hazardous country lanes and steep hills to get to it.
But other schools on the more main routes appear to be open.
I assume my brothers is also closed, normally would be up around when i leave and over Sutton Valance.

I couldn't really comment on Sevenoaks really other then this morning 10 to 7 where it looked a bit unsafe on roads by me but were ok once i got onto the main road. Hopefully tomorrows storms dont affect my travel in or home.

Thank you cabbles, from here on in I will defend the spelling of your user name
  • Just had to collect my son after his work van got trapped in. His boss was an arse about it though, telling him he could't leave the van in case someone nicks it. Nicks it??? ~ He could't shift it himself!
  • what's happened to the good old British postie ?? Supposedly out in all weathers in just a t-shirt & shorts, but I've not had any post all week & it was my birthday yesterday.........no cards, no nothing (and I've been assured by my mother that she posted it last weekend).
  • The Fire Brigade rescuing a dog in Barnet. With all the other problems they have to deal with, it's shame that owners can't keep their dogs under control near frozen ponds and streams.

Kent has had a few very quiet days. Hardly any calls going through our control but people are idiots, when we were out Tuesday morning getting stuck cars out of the snow their owners all seemed to be driving to get a paper or milk, which they thought were essential journeys.
  • The man who died at Danson Park yesterday hadn't, after all, been walking a dog or tried to rescue another person's animal but fell into lake. Emergency crews pulled him from the water but he was pronounced dead in hospital. Just demonstrates the dangers of walking on ice and a lesson to everyone especially kids who may be oblivious to it.

    RIP

Someone on here who knows him confirmed the poor Bloke was saving his dog.
  • Decided not to take car out. Snow was above my knees at some points and I'm horizontally, not vertically, challengedimage

Am I right thinking we’re due more snow overnight?

Cheap day out for you at last
  • It's annoying predictable. Red alerts for much of the West Country, yet still you get stories about loads of cars stuck in the snow on the A38 and A30. They were warned FFS...
