Needed to clarify that I have no insider knowledge and it is hopefully just me being especially nervous about everything Charlton related at the minute.
Signed, Ms Worry Guts of Dartford.
With eye sight like that I would'nt be so sure! ;-)
Very strange feeling around the valley at the final whistle Powell low key tunnel celebration and the players seemed down .But everyone was proberly drained at the end i know i was.
Wouldn't mind knowing what the wave to the directors box was about after the game...
His Mum & Dad sit in the back row on the opposite side of the aisle to our Directors.
And there was me thinking he was waving to Neil Kinnock ;-)
He's definitely not right our Chrissy but maybe there are other factors at work? He was very static in the first half but cheered up a bit in the second when he got a chance to earwig the 4th official. Maybe he's just toning it down a bit and doesn't want to appear triumphant, who knows? Fingers crossed.
I interviewed CP tonight after the game, he seemed upbeat with us in the tunnel and was in fine form with the written media in the Press Room, would not read too much into the body language.
he was just pissed off that we nearly chucked all the hard work down the drain... beating himself up a bit, most important thing is the result was got and just like if we had lost you cant dwell on it, job done and move onto bristol, long way to go yet...

"It was an entertaining evening and a real lift for us, especially at home, as home is where you really want to get your points in front of your fans," said Powell.
"The crowd could quite easily have turned at 2-0 down but I felt they dragged us through and our support was superb.
"We had only scored five goals at home before tonight and now we have doubled it. We were 2-0 down and then you saw the resolve and character of the players, they showed a lot of heart.
"We lost heavily on Saturday (a 4-1 home defeat to Middlesbrough) and had a few days of soul searching but they got themselves back in the game. The first 20 minutes of the second period we were devastating.
"Maybe we got a bit of luck we haven't had this year with Dale Stephens' goal but Rob Hulse and Danny Haynes deserved their goals.
"As a manager, I am not happy with goals against as that can count for an extra point, but it was a superb night for us."
Well if the board want to piss off the fans they should just get rid of CP and put Dennis Wise in charge. They'd have to be pretty dim if they didn't get any sort of message from this evening.
Stop it!!! I am sure there were no subliminal messages I spect he was happy with the win but peeved with the scoreline and probably freaked by the constant chanting of his name.
It's another SCP master stroke... Support was fantastic initially to show the board we support Chris, that support got us out of a hole at 2-0 down and the players rode the support to victory. Keep the body language mooted and make us think he's still in danger = fantastic support at the next home game = more points at home = survival!!!
I wouldn't put anything on here for fear of people accusing me of 'wanting it to happen' but if we all cross our fingers everything will be OK thankfully.
Despite my mood, today was a great win and let's dwell on that instead. Roll on the Gumbobus Sunday.

If you'd seen my body language at 5-4 it wasn't joyous I can tell you....

I can sleep soundly tonight now ..

Ok, maybe not.
Blimey I'll have to remember that.
