Ok, there is a cash flow issue. 1) If our backer has pulled out, it's important to know what the hole is, and is it the sort of sum you could cover by selling a player or two, e.g. Solly - after all back in the 90s we sold players every season to keep going - or is it greater than that? 2) We do seem about to sign Lawrie Wilson which doesn't entirely tie in with (1), as surely any signing would involve some cash up front? We could, for example, use Cousins at RB and try to get a cheap loan player in. 3) Are there alternative sources of funding being sought, and in what timeframe? 4) Are we in a situation where we have enough money to operate at the moment, but will run out at some point during the season? If that was the case, then keeping quiet about it, and secretly trying to get new backers in sounds a very sensible strategy - if this was the case, then the Club's financial accounts would fail the 'going concern' test, but the deadline for filing them is a long way off.
No way on earth that Hayes is on 8k per week, where on earth do people get these figures from?
It is plain dumb to believe that we were paying one player 420k per year, that would be about crazy given that TOTAL revenues per year are only around 9.5 million in L1.
There's 11 pages showing on my phone that I haven't read. Are they all worth reading?
If you want to understand whats going then yes they probably are worth reading. However after reading pages 9-14 I still don't know what to think even though my down shit creek-o-meter is still very high.
Word from inside the club is the main financial backer has gone ...
It's that simple... There's a few who are trying to pretend it isn't happening and then there's most of us who are very worried...
Well surely the logic is that we would've been told and we would have sold players by now and we wouldn't be signing Wilson? sorry, i've come in really quite late on this subject!
"It appears that Cash has pulled the cash, not TJ.
.....there is not proof available that will convince you but I and others believe the general thrust of what is being said for a number of reasons.
1. There are a number of different posters saying similar things over a period of weeks. Posters on other sites unconnected to CL appear to have other sources confirming the same or similar things.
2. Those posters have links to people within the Club and access to their views. I know this to be the case with PA, AB, Plaayer and NLA. And no, they won't reveal their sources. AB is also an employee of the Club. I choose to believe them just as you choose to not.
3. The action and inaction of the Club are consistent with what is being said to be the situation ie the lack of signings. Even if Wilson signs tomorrow that to me indicates that SOME money has been found, not that the overall cash flow and cash supply problems have been solved completely. Remember Rangers signed a player on the day they went into administration".
Fair enough mate.. For me it's not about guilt, it's about whether cash has left and that seems to be a resounding yes, then it's about whether we can get another backer in as it appears that these guys haven't got the money to pay for everything, but then again it may be that the money coming in from the football league could fund us for a few months which may give us time to find a new backer... Either way it seems very very precarious...

Is signing Wilson a great thing if he is Solly's replacement? Maybe CP has said Solly can not be sold until we get a body in the door first.
Problem is that certain people at the club would like investment but to keep their current position at the club which may cause some to look elsewhere. Can't belive I just read about 2 more pages on here after returning from a pub fire, hard to keep up.
@Pragueaddick.................enjoy your holiday mate.......supporters trust could well be set-up, or at least have terms of reference, by the time you get back.

I had heard from a source at wycombe that the likes of hayes were on big dough 6-8k per week (of which they paid nigh on f*** all towards when he was on loan there)
i was the one who had heard about hayes dough , clearly not in the right ball park but nearer than the top player earns 3k stuff we kept hearing , if essex al's numbers game is to be believed
but i can understand him being on 5k because he came on a 'free' which for those that don't know means they get a signing on fee or increased salary so in effect no one is a free imo !
Hopefully something will happen that will prove what the situation is one way or another. Such a shame that we finally get things right on the field, the current best 16 players are good enough to hold their own in the Championship and we are only 2-4 good signings away from posing a challenge, and now it all seems up in the air again.
I can assure you my info is Kosher, my mate and his partner have been out to dinner with Hayes and his wife a few times over the summer.
Put it this way, he's not far short of earning £250,000 a year with us. Quite a substantial sum for a league 1 player when we didn't have a very large pot to p*ss in!

We where told by his "agent" which was prob bollocks! That he was the highest paid player from memory 6-8k a week. But as I say this is a bloke we were chatting to on a train to Sheffield and could have been anyone. But did seem to know his stuff

Makes you wonder what JJ, BWP etc. are on!
£250,000 for an average L1 striker at a club that is in huge debt and has new owners determined to live within our means?
To most people that will seem very, very unlikely given total L1 revenues are only around 9 million.
I would be gobsmacked if this were true, he's not exactly Lambert, Holt or Rhodes is he?

As he was brought in as a 1st teamer (originally) I would expect his wages to be at the higher end of the team.

But when you look at clubs like Pompey Leeds rangers
All signing players and then all of a sudden going into admin or severe monetary problems I no longer look at it in that way

Hayes is probably on about 3k per week.

This comment should be a sticky for new comers...

I wish administration on no one. Not even Br*ghton.
Nowhere near 8k but a lot more than 3k!

This is a bloke who had come from pot less Scunthorpe and Preston, he is not exactly Wayne Rooney in terms of market power.
I would be very, very surprised if many CAFC players were on much more than £150k per year.
