Maybe we're not skint and its one big exaggeration. Just maybe.
Having thought (and fretted) about it and not much else over the whole weekend I'm hoping the same. Maybe not an exaggeration as such but crossed wires.
Not burying my head in the sand or doubting the credebility of what is posted but thought hard about it and without access to the full facts I can't convince myself it is as bad as I had thought. Time will tell as the soap opera continues but til then I dont see the point about worrying about anything I can't do diddly squat about particularly when I'm basing it on a few snippets read on here regardless of how credible the posters may be.
Perhaps ooooh ah will be kind enough to give us one of his probability % predictions as he's usually not far from spot on with those ;-)
Well, SCP seems to be saying that Wilson is there as competition for Solly - that doesn't sound like Solly is going. This is really confusing me big time. I think we have to assume that whatever cash flow problems we had, have been resolved!
so what else could it be? Surely we wouldn't have bought Wilson with no cash?
what puzzles me is not so much the upfront fee, but the fact he's signed to a 3 year contract - he must have been advised of the long term stability in signing such a deal by someone
Reading Powell's comments on Cook he says that there were other clubs in for him but he was 'hanging out for us'. Does this mean that this was delayed at some stage but Powell got the green light? Would seem to tie in with the alleged issues, and hopefully mean that they have been at least partially or temporarily resolved....
Many companies keep their main funds on deposit and just pay enough into the current/cheque account as and when it is needed. Let's hope that this is the case here otherwise Mr Hollands' three little bubbas might well be going hungry soon along with all the CAFC staff

Being really pessimistic, playing hard to get means that we're more likely to get a good price - saying to the world "we're broke, come and buy our players please" guarantees pathetic prices...
If it was solved, wouldnt they come out and say it to stop the rumours?
It's never a good idea to deny rumours most people haven't heard, as they're likely to assume there is some grain of truth.... "Killerandflash denies he has an alcohol problem" would make most people think I was addicted to the hard stuff :-)
At the end of the day, without seeing the current bank balance and cash flow projections for the next 12 months, it's very hard to make a judgement on how (in)solvent we are. These things are of course highly confidential, so we'll never see them (and neither will the Charlton legends who post on this board)
Those are the figures as at 30 June 2011, and considering how many players we brought in last summer, we can safely say that we spent more than £28,000!
Seems as though a lot of dosh has been going on us to get relegated. Most bookies have slashed our odds. Boylesports were 9-1 on us going down 2 days ago we are now 6s with them today.
All this money thing is rubbish why have we just signed numerous academy coaches and replace in our broken badge. We are signing players which will need transfer fees (not Cook) but Wilson will cost. Weve just got a new board member who used to be a important employee with Umbro so why would he join if we had massive debts All of it is BULLSHIT
A possible situation; there was a crisis, during this crisis no signings; crisis has been rectified, two signings in one day.
Perhaps the person "from within the club" who posted on here and set the hares running could come back and let us know if the 3 dog caught them or if they got away.
Just because money is spent it doesn't mean you aren't skint. I get paid on the 24th of the month and that money has to last for all my outgoings until next payday. If I piss it all away buying baubles in the first week I might look wealthy but in reality I'm in trouble.

true or untrue I don't think the Club will comment unless they are forced to ie when Newell leaving was confirmed.

we are also as big as 28-1 with Coral to win the league.
