If we've paid Hayes £400k so far for his "services " then we've been done and this would have to rank as SCP's worst bit of business (unless Alonso was on similarly high wages).
Don't know your mate, but are you 100% sure he didn't just give you a number that sounded plausible so he looked like he had some info ? Just ask as this seems to be completely out with our wage structur and Hayes really isn't the sort of player you'd break your wage structure for.
All this money thing is rubbish why have we just signed numerous academy coaches and replace in our broken badge. We are signing players which will need transfer fees (not Cook) but Wilson will cost. Weve just got a new board member who used to be a important employee with Umbro so why would he join if we had massive debts All of it is BULLSHIT

Leon Clarke?
It's all relative, Clarke replaced Benson who was never in the plans so I guess he "cost" whatever the difference between his and Bensons wages were which could have been a negative figure.

His on around 4.5k so his not earning 400k a year, more like around 215k.
Got some good mathemeticians here!......4.5 x 52 =Aprox 235K a year

And the good news is .. without the influx of money before the start of last season, we would be floating (just) in the middle of the 1st division, still in debt and with an indifferent bunch of players. The glass right now is more than half full. In the unlikely event that we get relegated this coming season, at least we had reasons to be very cheerful this summer. Forget who owns what and does/did what and said what to whom, just enjoy the remains of last season's success while it lasts. I used to sit in the north stand watching premier division fooball and listening to drunken know nothings around me effing and blinding at that t**t Curbishley, this after all he had done for this club. Success and adoration can be short lived. Enjoy them while you can, tomorrow will look after itself.

It's not that we're in massive debts, we had a cash flow problem, so before you tell us everything is BULLSHIT how about you take a look at some of the other threads on here and see whats happening. As many have said, Rangers signed someone on the very day they went into admin, so get your head out of your arse and try to see the bigger picture

Never had my head in my arse mate and the big picture is people trying to make themselves seem big by saying they have inside info on something that they clearly dont

Do your homework and stop making an arse of yourself.
But if you have a cashflow problem, having had to manage finances closely at work for years, you cut out or delay all unnecessary expenditure. You stop paying suppliers, you don't incur expenditure you could avoid or delay. So far I haven't seen much evidence of this, so is the situation not so much that we're out of cash at the moment, but rather that the budget numbers for the upcoming season don't currently add up?

its clear to you that they don't? they are just doing it to make themselves feel more important? some might do that but i doubt all of them are doing it just to feed their egos.

Perhaps you normally move in circles where people try "to make themselves seem big by saying they have inside info on something", but on this occaision, as charlton_hero said, I advise you to a bit of homework on who has been saying these things - as I said to a similar poster on another thread "many with a history of fighting for this club - not just sounding off on a chat forum".

I had the same thought. But even in the event that we are ok cash-wise for now, you would still hoard cash if you anticipate prospective cash flow problems, right?
*CONJECTURE ALERT*
Perhaps the other option is that as we need to find a buyer regardless, we may as well continue to invest and make ourselves a decent proposition. A couple of hundred thousand is irrelevant - if we don't find a backer we're screwed regardless...
I thought those in the know had categorically stated that local suppliers hadn't been paid for up to three months as fact... so there were/are cash flow problems.
Anyway, today's outlook appears positive so I'll relax until tonight's bombshell.
(before anyone panics, no, I don't know that there is a bombshell coming tonight but following the pattern of the last few weeks it's to be expected!)

Re local suppliers not being paid, I'm not sure that anyone actually said that ...but there is 'possibly' an issue with Inland Revenue going back a few months......know the feeling, in that the club are not alone by any means!!!
HMRC are cracking down on clubs not paying them, it's by far the biggest outgoing (apart from wages) and is a nice 'easy' cashflow saving, compared with the hassle (and guilt) from not paying the local suppliers.
I'm sure someone did say that in one of the many summaries but to be honest it's all blurring into one at the moment... maybe I imagined it!
Yes, you're right it was mentioned but not as a fact, more of a supposition, question or suggestion.....like you, I can't put my mind to 'exactly' how the comment was couched, but it wasn't stated as factual.
Been told the same as Essex_Al from the same person. Our mate has been friends with Hayes well before he came to us. If I had a close mate who was a footballer I would ask him what his earning too just natural to be curious. Al not sure if I have met you before but R has spoke of ya.
Hi Nicholas, yes we have met before and R is the same mate. Thanks for backing me up, it's amazing on here you state a fact and they still don't believe you!!!

Yes it is exactly what I have been told, that we have cash flow problems. Nevertheless I cannot say 'for certain', that this is the case. I have NOT been told that anyone has walked away. However I've been given the impression that the club could not function without regular director's loans. One of them apparently stopped doing that, but I am not clear why, or whether the issue can be easily resolved. I believed what I was told, firstly because I suspected that our playing squad was too expensive to be covered by regular revenue, and secondly because of the lack of any early signings. I did not expect a lot of signings, but I expected a couple early, because they had all rightly told themselves that getting in early had been a key success factor this time last year. There are two things that would really worry me. One is if one of the creditors would be the Inland Revenue. The other is that Chris Powell is hot property. Nevertheless, I'm aware that a boardroom agreement could instantly wipe out these worries. Meantime I would do my best to find out whether my worries are real or not, and hope others will do the same. I have got a further source to approach, but in that case in order to get a good answer, I need to be very sure of my question, and I'm not yet. That's why I value this thread and any decent effort by anyone to find out more.

(Yes I am aware that clubs in financial difficulty still sign players)
