  • This is all quite embarrassing. Collective imaginations have run away
  • all the bad news stories filtering out mean that most will be happy with the two signings, who before all the shit hitting the fan became public would definitely have been viewed upon as chuff signings imo
cos i was thinking we were gonna be shopping a bit higher up the footballing pyramid

    anyway i'm thinking 0% automatic 1% playoffs 84% 7th-21st 15% relegation
  • think thats realistic oohahh to be honest.
  • Just adding what I heard via a usually credible source this evening.

Mr Cash has indeed left the building, but the reason I was told is it's actually more to do with frustration of working with TJ than money. PV's reason for going may also be the same.
  • Come back home Mr Cash!
  • The club can't make any official statement other than the bland 'boardroom reshuffle' because they have previously stated they are the owners and no mystery investor exists.

But when people have been digging into them the last week ther names crop up together on loads of business ventues, company's etc so cash must know what TJ is like to work with surely.
  • Just read through this. Now I'm worried.

Reading Powell's comments on Cook he says that there were other clubs in for him but he was 'hanging out for us'. Does this mean that this was delayed at some stage but Powell got the green light? Would seem to tie in with the alleged issues, and hopefully mean that they have been at least partially or temporarily resolved....
This is exactly what I thought when I read that - Powell may not have had the money / or maybe wasn't told how much money he had before today. So he couldn't have comitted to the players even if both parties were interested. If, as NLA suggested, we were previously unable to agree the salaries initially offered, that problem at least seems to have been resolved over the weekend.

    Not really.No.
Cash's name crops up on no business ventures anywhere!
Slater's however does and it is fairly confidently presumed that he is the front man for Cash.

But-I think?- there's no records of slater and Jimenez being linked together other than CAFC holdings ltd.
  • Balderdash.

I hoped the same, but these two look like they've been signed as squad players to me (as long as we keep Solly). They're more like signings of Evina, Pritchard and Hughes last summer than players like Hamer, Morrison and Wiggins.

I expect anyone signed to be a regular will be more proven than these two.

Re The link between Cash, Slater & TJ:

A quick Google of Kevin Cash will lead you to this site (bazaarly) showing pictures of his wedding reception. Slater is in a few, as is Dennis Wise - recruited by TJ at Newcastle - and (even more bazaarly) Martin Clunes.

Looking a bit closer, can anyone confirm if that is TJ in the background of pic 036? Dark green shirt.

Perhaps Clunes is the missing link to these 'men behaving badly'? :-)

Actually Jimenz and Cash were joint executive producers for a film company called Revolver

  • This is who I mean btw:

perhaps we should have got him to vet them before they were allowed to take us over

so, does Martin Clunes own us?

This Article seems to link him with Les Bordes which Jiminez is/was involved in

It's Doc Martin, not Vet Martin.

If we keep our ears open we might hear some gossip.

  • If Cash has walked then I presume it's only a matter of time before we have a new Chairman.
  • If, as it would seem, they are all friends on a personal level and have had business dealings in the past - does it not seem odd that they would've had a massive bust-up, and that Jiminez and Cash are at loggerheads? (as suggested by some on here).
  • It's a pity we aren't back at 18,000 season ticket holders like previously in the Championship. The extra funds generated by the 7,000 returning would no doubt make our position a whole lot healthier, and make the club more viable to investors
  • What evidence is there that the main momeyman, whoever he is, has "walked"? He could just be flexing his muscles reminding TJ or others that he holds the purse strings and that tight finaciial discipline is still needed. It wouldn't surprise me if TJ had been financially over-ambitious in his tranfser targets and, against the backdrop of lower TV revenue etc., needed to be put firmly in his place; something he probably hasn't taken kindly to, hence the very tough stance taken. Who nows? At least 2 new signings give some encouragement.
  • Apologise for my ignorance, but what did Slater say, I can't find his statement.

We only had that many season tickets because we were on a promise of a free one if promoted back to the Prem - people bought them, but then many didn't use them as the on-pitch performances deteriorated. It would take a similar kind of incentive - or promotion back to the Prem - to get anything like that number back again.

  • I bow to others with greater links in the club than I do, but wasn't some of this hysteria put down to the fact that we offered Lee Cook a contract that was susequently retracted or reduced? Is it not possible that the offer was made to Jordan Cook, and has now been sorted? That would fit in with him saying he had other offers, but was willing to wait for Charlton.
  • The offer wasn't to a player named Cook, But I'm not saying who it was as was told in confidence.
  • not Cook, believe was a player currently in the PL
  • Which both Cooks were.
