My own feeling is to see what happens in the next week to be honest. Maybe formulate some sort of plan in the mean time and if nothing has moved forward by the end of next week.
Is there anything we as fans can do collectively to rectify/ benefit the situation or is it a case of just sitting and watching it all unravel?
In the short term, I fear that's all we can do. In the medium - long term we can try to form a Supporters Trust that gains us access to the boardroom and participation in financial decision - making. Not a great answer, sorry.
I feel very frustrated that we just have to sit on our hands and await developments.I am very interested to go down the supporters trust route. To think that two months ago i was wallowing in the afterglow of our wonderful season. How things have changed in such a short time.I agree with Henry, now is not the time for petty bickering. We need to stick together and give the club any support we can.
Suppose it will be stop the expectation that we can follow Norwich and Saints by going up again. Hoping for some official news soon, maybe we need a miracle but you never know, we have survived worse in the past.
I'm starting to fear the worst. I think the problem is we haven't now got any rich fans that we can turn to. The ones that we have are owed so much money they are going to be reluctant to put their hands in their pockets again. If we're gonna be saved, we're gonna have to sell our soul to the devil.
IMO we need a friendly journo and not a local but tbh we are small news
There's the Collins family, but Patrick doesnt really do finance, and with Mick I've often been puzzled about the angles he's taken in the past. David Conn does this stuff, but as you imply, when you've got the Glazers to write about, we're well down his agenda. But then again he did good stuff on Bury and others last year...
But, but but...first of all we may not be clear enough about the story yet, and secondly we need to work out what we gain by having it blasted across the papers. If the aim was to get rid of a 'bad apple', then maybe, but we need to be sure first that its as simple as that. And removing a bad apple doesn't necessarily fill the funding gap. But it would be good to know if anyone has any links to good journos.
Is Keegans best mate still on good terms with the Man City season ticket holder ??
Can only guess that MS is caught in the middle, I'm just praying we get a new backer or owner ASAP, the frustrating thing for me about all this shit is that if you take away all this bullshit we are not to far off having a team that could challenge for the prem with 4 or 5 decent signings of course, I guess that's why half of us are totally pissed off with the current situation. Bickering and sqabbling ain't going to get us nowhere on Internet forums. I'd like to see the fans take some action but what the feck do you do when the club remains so silent which only fuels the flames for the gossip and rumours in which we all end up confused With what's really going on.
Ok. If NLA is right (piss taking aside from buying clubs) we need to sell to stave off administration. If we do that we then need about 51 points, or 17 wins to survive.
Assuming Chris Powell goes, and his staff, (the judgement call has to be made between the cost of honouring contracts, and paying them their wage to stay), we are managed by Sean Dyche.
We then lose (in order to get in enough money to avoid administration):
Hamer Solly Morrison Wiggins Hollands Jackson Kermogant Wright-Phillips Green Wagstaff
Thats a squad of 17, so some youngsters will have to play such as Muldoon and Azeez.
Could we get 51 points with that lot? Park the bus home and away, hope for a bit of luck, and some late home pressure to win some games? If we draw every game we get 46 points, try for that, or get a sneaky couple of wins for every three defeats. We might just do it. If we get docked the 'going into administration' points though, I fear we won't have any chance of staying up.

I might be able to help on that front but to be honest I'm not sure I want to.......at least not right now. It may do more harm than good.
Everyone just Keep Calm. i'm sure everything will get sorted. hopefully sooner rarther then later.
we are Charlton. we never do things the easy way. I think many people here are going wayy OTT
Yann may well want to add to his contract, if the money issues are true, prehaps thats why he hasn't yet. Either way im sure things will work out good. in the board we trust

I'm sorry mate but based on what we've heard - and who we've heard it from - I'd say that was 'complacency mongering'.

Prague/Airman .....Apart from worry our socks off, is there realistically ANYTHING useful we supporters can do at this stage ?
That feeling of being totally helpless....and wondering how the gaffer is feeling - so many negative emotions ! Only a woman could say this but could we somehow let SCP know how we're all with him but worrying about him ? I'm sure that Chris Parkes at Sparrows Lane would get a message to him on Monday morning if he's there...

I felt like this at first Matt but now i dont.
I now feel like a naive bird who'd been going out with a new mysterious flash charmer who has taken her on a five star holiday to Paris after she'd previously spent the last few years eating cake and watching Bridget Jones. Mates were telling her to tread carefully but it fell on deaf ears. Now it seems he's turned out to be a wrong un soon to be off without leaving his number and run up massive debts on her Topshop card.
Knew she shouldnt have trusted him but was too busy being taken up the Eiffel Tower to worry about things going pear shaped and now is going back to gorging on gateau whilst sobbing into 50 Shades of Grey wondering whether anyone will ever again fund a cab trip to the pub let alone a trip to Europe.
Journos..thanks NSS and FlyingKiwi.. but let's park it until we know what is going on, and most importantly what we want to happen which might be assisted by public exposure. In my experience when briefing a journo you've got to be so sure of what the story is that you can almost write it yourself. Me, I'm a long way from being there yet.
I thank AB for bringing todays turn of events to our attention but I just hope He hasn't put himself in an untenable position with his employers by posting a crptic message about what he knows.
I swore that I wasnt going to post on this thread and this will be my only post.
I'm not going into how I know what I'm going to say, but I am 100% certain it is true.
Scabbyhorse is more or less on the money. If a certain person is removed from the equation we will receive the money we require to operate and move forward.
If the person remains who knows what might happen.

As said above, only Charlton.

Michael Grade must have a bob or two surely?

I don't know what we can do at this stage but we need to get a plan between us!
Matt, I'm glad you trust the board. I just wonder who will be on that board in a few weeks time.

Just need to do SOMETHING.

He can't say more I doubt he shouldve even said what he has tbh
I'm in the same boat, mate. Not so sure about being taken up the Eiffel tower though.
Great anology

No facts or inside knowledge just a guess.
