  • Ok then maybe its best if this "employee of the club" says nothing from now on and leaves the board to get on with it. If something serious is around the corner we will all hear about it soon enough.
yeah, that's what all the overpaid middle managers at Barclays told themselves.

That turned out well for all of us.
  • I understand the problem. I just don't get why costs have risen when we've been promoted to where this is definitely more money. Why do we need money to stand still?

Is it because of salary increases on promotion? if so, tht would make sense.
  • By the sounds of it we are back up the creek again, do we have a paddle?

Ok let's all storm the boardroom and demand answers based on unsubstianted rumours then. Much better!!

I seem to recall it being made public that we expected an operating loss last year of around 4m. "Someone" was covering that 4m. There is more TV money, but not much, and disgracefully, its been reduced. And everybody expects new signings for us to kick on, whatever the debate about how far, how fast. The question is whether that "someone" was given the right figures at the start of his investment, or whether he suddenly received a shock.

Why oh why oh why has this all gone so wrong....who the f*** has pulled the plug and WHY!!!!!
Is it too much to bloody well ask....why would anyone pull the plug at this stage....we've just come off the back of a hugely successful season with everything to play for and now this shyte....I'm bloody well fed up with the f*****g lot of them to be honest!!!
Please excuse the bad language folks but I'm so pissed off I can hardly contain my anger.
  • Hmmm, so is that 4m a more recent realisation only Murray said we'd just about break even in the champ. And now we are at least minus 1m due to reduced tv money. So you'd guess at least a million out of pocket before we've even started, plus increased salaries.

These are clever people who I hope understand that in football you usually need to put money in to get money out. I thought that's why they'd come in in the first place. And why Murray had sold to "seriously wealthy" investors.

With all due respect Prague,Airman has made a bit of a habit of coming on here, dropping a cryptic tit bit or two and then buggering off.If he can't go into specifics, which i would understand, then maybe, like the rest of the employed staff seem to be doing,he should say nothing at all.
It's alright you talking about starting another crusade and trying to save the club from virtual meltdown before it actually happens, but when there's very little to go on how can anyone?
It would need someone from an official capacity to actually have the balls to come out and say exactly what is going on.This scaremongering is doing nobody any good.

  • ..
That didn't take long did it!

Has Airman stated that costs have risen, Danny ? Discussions on this thread have suggested & examined various scenarios as to why there are problems at our Club, and we may not have even come up with the correct one yet...who knows ?

I just want to echo what Prague has said about Rick. He IS a Club employee as most on here know and his post tonight should be a stark warning as to the level of seriousness that others have tried to indicate for the past week. No, that should be the level of seriousness NOW reached otherwise why would he post on a Saturday evening if things hadn't become worse ?

As a Club employee, it's taken a hell of a lot of courage & even desperation for him to have pretty much spelt it out for those who doubted....after all, those in charge at the Club are his bosses.

Think it's time for the doubters to take stock and for those worrying about who we're going to buy to get real and start smelling the cawfee...

  • Well hopefully KC reads about our suffering and stumps up some more cash for us!

If not we'll be looking for new owners again, if it comes to that at least we're in a better position than 18 months ago. Personally think the opportunity of £50m in 12 months will hopefully be enough to persuade them.

  • AB's post was far from "cryptic".

Well said Fanny and I fully echo the sentiments about Airman. I think a problem is that, even if we can agree on which rumour we most believe, then it is unclear as to what the hell we can do about it anyway. At the moment uncertainty rules and uncertainty is always a killer. Bickering and sheer frustration are taking their toll on all of us. Tough times.

I'm just thinking that without rising costs, why would we be in financial difficulty now and weren't before?

What I didn't quite get from Rick's post was the ambiguity of the 'as of today' wording....does that mean literally that something else has taken place today (July 7th) which has made the situation significantly worse or did he mean 'as of today' as in things that have led us to todays situation.
Hope I've written that so you all understand....I think I have?
  • Christ, will some of you believe it when the administrator turns up?

Head and brick wall spring to mind!
  • From Airman's comments, we have lost funding so we need to find some. Not too cryptic really - I would assume the board are trying to sort this out and we just have to hope they do.

Hopefully they can hold on to our better players until they do so then. It took years last time though, not months.

As someone who has never worked in the private sector, I have never been directly involved with finance & all its complexities . In the public sector, it was more about that awful "T" word- targets ( no offence Large/Golfie/Jimmy M)

But one thing I'm certain of is that there is a common denominator for BOTH sectors ...

And that's the "P" word...People. What is it they say ? There's nowt so queer as folk - think you get my gist.

So my guess is that when you put people together with money ( at least the kind of money we're talking about here) it can be a recipe for trouble unless everyone is singing from the same hymn sheet.

Probably some poor, inept reasoning here, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
