effing disgrace. a f*cking idiot couldve guessed that yesterday. Watched BBC Weather this morning and they said it was the coldest night of the winter. How on earth they thought the game could be on when last week was off at 9am. Disgraceful that they have left it so long to make the decision. Arseholes, build themselves a brand new ground without undersoil heating and then ponce about making decisions whether to cancel or not.
If you knew it was going to be off yesterday why get in such a stew about it now?

That's OK then, because we know that no effing idiots support Charlton and so they will have made their own decisions and taken responsibility for whether they go up or not in light of the fact that it was almost certainly off.

Well cos if the game is not officially off and youve paid for your match and train tickets then youve still got to waste your time starting to travel haven't you? Pretty bloody stupid question if you ask me ME14. Hundreds of our fans are halfway up there already.
They said the pitch is playable but we can't be arsed? If it has been rearranged that quickly they must have known in time to have saved our fans the bother of setting off.
Very poor communication from Chesterfield FC! Luckily I was just about to leave but know people who were on the train and now having to travel to Leicester before they can turn back.

From your comment you appear to have decided yesterday that that match was off, so you wouldn't be affected by setting off and you would be able to claim a refund. After yesterday's pitch inspection there was obviously a chance that the match would go ahead. If so, why would Chesterfield want it called off? If it had been called off and the weather wasn't as severe as it turned out, they would have looked pretty silly. I believe they were correct in giving every possible chance of the game going ahead.
You're banned from going to the rearranged one anyway MIA given your track record of late...............only joking glad you didn't get caught halfway there this time and it's a bloody shame so many of our fans have been inconvenienced. On the bright side we are still top of the league and I am fairly confident we will have the last laugh when we win pomotion!
Im not picking on Chesterfield but there should be a ruling that requires a decision before away fans start travelling. Fine if it's a local game but in this case the forecast had been bad for days. If it was a problem yesterday it was going to be a problem today, so make a decision. You won't get as much flak for calling a game off early when there is a late improvement in the weather. That boxing day fiasco was down to the ref wasn't it? Well make him get up earlier I say. He is being paid and us away fans ain't.
It costs plenty to follow your team away; more thought required by the organisers!

I would because I already had my train tickets and the game was officially still on. How does that not affect me (or all of our other fans who I feel sorry for). I'm not a weatherman and I'm not there to look at the pitch. Why did they not a) advise that the game was likely to be off tomorrow if weather was as predicted but that they were leaving it to the morning to give it the best possible chance b) specifically state what time the pitch inspection was going to be in the morning and c) carry out the inspection at 8 / 8:30 / 9:00am not 10. We cancelled at 9am last week.
They left fans (who haven't seen the pitch and do not know anything about the capabilities of their pitch heaters and covers) to make their own guesses and as per Isawleaburns post above, half of them are already way, way away from home and wont be getting refunds (nor will I for my advance train tickets). Fortunately I hadn't got out of London but my brother had travelled over an hour to get to St. Pancras.
Chesterfield are a joke club, should have been an 8.30 inspection knowing how far Charlton fans would have to travel & given forecasts yesterday. They deserve to go down!
WHO said it is the 28th. Nothing on OS and Chesterfield site says to be rearranged. Don't post spurious rumours as gospel please as some of us take it as fact.
Haha , I'm more gutted i cant get to the rearranged game , as i was really looking forward to it , can't be helped worse things happen at sea as they say , bit miffed as my sons were really looking forward to it ,and that was like our half term holiday, oh well ...Liverpool v Man United it is then!

Bloody typical!

They probably had a date in mind yesterday.
