Pitch was forked & cut straight after the game on tuesday night & has been covered since to prevent Frost getting into it, unless temperature drops to less than -5c for the night the game will be on.
What does "cutting it straight" mean and why does it help keep out the frost ?
it probably meant the minute all us frozen ones left the stadium...Paddy jumped on his mower and cut the grass straight away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........he cut it in straight lines and planted cabbages!!!!...
Forget the BBC data as its not local enough. Try this - they are personal weather stations so not comparable to Met Office but will give an idea of how the temps are moving. BTW the grass temp is probably 3c lower !
The warmest it will get tonight is -13 for me,but thats miles away from the valley.Glad t am not coming over for this game with Rochdale just look at last season when we played them.Sure we will know very soon on ,come Saturday if game is off .But somehow think pitch will not be playable.
I've been up the top of the highest mountain in Germany when it was -10 and a full scale blizzard in only a jumper and rain jacket, now that was cold, so this is like summer compared to what I've been in
