It says that providing the weather doesn't deteriorate overnight, we have a good chance of the game going ahead. Is it forecast to deteriorate tonight?
  • -4 tonight is what I heard

50/50 sounds about right then - positive they are working on the pitch now- I'm sure that will help.
  • It aint just the pitch though is it? Paths, steps, pavements etc covered in ice will get it called off also. H&S

  • -1 in the se7 smoke -4 in the sticks where i live!

Realise we're talking about a different era but the thought of calling the game off tomorrow wouldn't even have been considered by this insignificant spot of cold weather.....I've seen many a game at The Valley played in near Arctic conditions.

I know that the stands can be a factor but I think it will be about the pitch tomorrow.

Two outside companies helping as well, can imagine everyone will be doing their hardest to make it go ahead I imagine Slater and Jiminez being out there all night with their blow torches

If they are putting all that effort on the pitch now, its condition as it is in at this moment will surely tell us whether the game will go ahead tomorow, as we can expect the same conditions overnight and to the game as we have had today from the forecasts I have seen.
  • As someone who drinks loose leaf tea, I will come back with a prediction at about half five.

Would be interesting to know if it is playable now though. It costs the club a lot of money for it to be postponed so they will be doing their upmost I'm sure.

I guess the covers would have been on for a while now then it should be ok all depends on tonite if it drops bellow -4 then the chances are the frost will get in and it will be called off so pray it does drop below

No ice about Ted, they said on the weather this morning due to the "dry" air nobody is having to scrape their wind screens etc. If the pitch is OK the paths and steps will fine

-5 here in Kent coming into work today.
  • 6 games off in L1 so far and 7 off in L2, none off in Championship yet

I imagine they'll make a decision tomorrow morning, so that the Rochdale fans can turn back nice and early. I presume Wednesday have undersoil heating, so will go ahead?

Temperature drops differ in different areas lets just hope it stays higher then -4

That must have been an early start JT, I commute to Maidstone and it was -1 at 08.30

I assume the pitch is at the very least covered?
Seem to remember they had it covered in recent seasons.

Pitch was forked & cut straight after the game on tuesday night & has been covered since to prevent Frost getting into it, unless temperature drops to less than -5c for the night the game will be on.
