Obviously a decision will have have to be made early because of the distance the Rochdale fans have to come and because of that i can only see the decision being that it's called off.

If the only decision is to call it off because of the oppositions travelling distance they would call it off today.

They will have a lot of intelligence from today so they will know reasonably early what is going to happen with the pitch. I am assuming that if the temperatures and conditions are as today, which they should be - the game will be on. So we have to hope that tonight is no colder and possibly slightly warmer!
  • Blowers brought in... At least the comentary will be fun, in comes wiggins from the jimmy seed end, and it goes wide, a lovely shiney 177 goes trundling along woolwich road a pidgeon pecks at a discarded pie... One for the cricket boys.

  • If it is off, nobody tell OohAah and then he can moan about the poor turnout......
  • If it's as cold overnight as they say then there's no way the game will be on.

Best the club call it off nice and early to save any Rochdale fans making an unneccessary journey.

Rearranged for a warm April evening with promotion beckoning will do nicely

Met Office says the lowest it will reach tonight in south-east London is minus 3, so I confidently expect the game to be on.

The O/S says frost covers have been on since Tuesday night, but they only work to -4 & pitch temperatures are lower than air temperatures.

North end of pitch (which gets sun) is ok.

Some parts of the South End are frozen.

They have extra covers down and are working with contractors with warm air blowers.

If the game had been scheduled today at 12.00 it would have been called off.

If the game had been scheduled today at 15.00 it would have been a close call. But a ref wasn't making a decision then.

BBC says temperature tonight for SE7 is -2. However, Met site says -5.

It is forecast to start snowing at 18.00 ish on Saturday.

So the game is definitely/maybe on/off.

LOL. The Test match will probably be over by the time our game is due to start, so he'll be able to do both!

Judging by the photo accompanying the OS article, the club have done their best to ensure the game goes ahead.

They've dug the pitch up and relaid it with tarmac.

It's always a local ref that does them isn't it? Not neccessarily the one pencilled in for the match. Where does D'Urso live?

Fairly local I think, his niece lives in basildon who I go to college with.
Told her exactly what I though of him after that boxing day..

I cant quote for my life on this site!

I thought it would be earlier but I'm leaning more to it going ahead now.
