Just got in.What a day i think that second half has gotta to be the longest half ever.
I think at one point @Plaaayer said to me, "there can only be about 15 minutes left" and I told him we'd only played 10 minutes of the second half. He almost cried like the time somebody spilt beer on his Uggs!
@valleygary that little passage of play with wiggins and jj leading up to bwp's chance early in 2nd half was sublime. And if we had scored it would defo been one of my all time favourite goals. Skinning players in their box is one thing, but doing it on the edge of your own box is proper men vs boys stuff. Wiggins oozes class.
They gave him stick and he reacted as anybody would but we would be doing the same as them if it was the other way round -its what football supporters do.
Great signing though - they really lost out letting us have him.
What is M Morisson supposed to have done at the end ?
Held his hands aloft in front of the kop.
All a load of b*****s from their lot cos he played well.
Could not give a flying fook. They booed him all game, he gave a little back. Good man and tbh, his football did the talking. That's the real source of their anger...
Solly is the better defender I reckon but I would say that wiggins is the better footballer

I accept you dont give it Charlie tatters mate I just didn't think you'd come on here I certainly wouldn't have gone on your site (that's what I meant) great cv by the way I am envious of that

Just got home, what a strange day. got the 10.25 from London and got stuck about 15 mins outside Leicester, didn't realise we were going to be stuck for 3 hours though(Journey from St Pancras actually took 5 and a half hours in the end) as there was a signal failure between Bedford and Leicester. When we finally got into Sheffield at 15.50 knowing at this point Jackson had scored a wonder freekick us and about 50 Charlton fans went sprinting for a cab me and Choice managed to get one straight away and finally got into the ground at half time. Angry but pleased we got there I personally thought the boys were fantastic, I'm sure whenever we played the ball on the floor the Wednesday lumps couldn't see the ball that far down. We played some quick and simple football and ran Wednesday ragged. We had a couple of one on ones which we should have buried. Wednesday looked awful and everything was up in the air and the back four dealt with most attacks comfortably. Fantastic win bring on the Sheffield. P.S sorry if none of this makes sense i'm still pissed
What did Michael Morrison do at the final whistle today? It seems to have upset the Wendies a little.....
....he tried to start a Mexican wave with the cop, but they all shouted in unison, 'it's too cold for that nonsense' and just waved to him and thanked him for the memories.
Thought the team spirit and togetherness really shone through today. This is a team playing for each other, the manager and the fans. You can be sure the goal celebrations with SCP aren't rehearsed like some teams! Great scenes at the end.
Great performance by the team today! First 20 Wednesday were in control and i was worried i must admit. Then up came Jackson, placing a beautiful free-kick shot into the top left, out of reach of Weaver and a great goal! Loved his charge towards Powelly afterwards as well! After this Everyone began showing their class, Jackson, leading by example as ever. For the rest of the first half we looked pretty much in control although it wasn't absolute, was a little scrappy. Second half we came out & were in control from the start, we cut them in half several times and looked like scoring several times if crosses had been that yard closer and such. BWP should've scored really although his shot wasn't terrible but definitely could've done better. Pritchard was HORRENDOUSLY blocked by Semedo and in my opinion that was a goal-scoring opportunity. He was in our half when he took the ball round Semedo and Jose just decided to foul him coz he knew he was bound to score. Was outrageous. I can understand the ref's decision, but if Hamer's sending off was rightful Semedo should've been sent off too easy! The dirty play really got under my skin! The rest committed some horrendous fouls too (Rob Jones, Llera to name a couple) The Midfield really bossed SW's, we were clearly in charge and there was only 10 mintues or so in that second half when id say we didn't have almost complete control. The last 5 minutes was crazy. I believe Wiggins saved our ass on the line from a corner although a draw would've been completely unreasonable. Russell looked good when he came on though not incredible, preferred Pritchard personally (Who had a great second half). When Clarke came on I thought he looked almost scared going forward, touch wasn't great and at one point he basically had a one on one with the keeper and was bumbling towards the goal! I didn't understand it! And when he got within a decent shooting distance he passed to Hollands (I think, not sure) who was marked! What kind of a centre forward passes instead of shooting in the last minute of the game when they had a very good shooting opportunity?!?! Completely nuts, wasn't very impressed with him im afraid!!
Thoguht the Sheffield support weren't very loud and we sung very well. The Wendies were obviously looking for a bit of a fight if they could manage it afterwards, mind you the odd guy walking around shouting "I WANNA GO HOME, I WANNA GO HOMEEEEEEEEEEE, SHEFFIELD'S A S**THOLE! I WANNA GO HOME!" Proooobably didn't go down well! Although i saw two 5 foot teenagers trying to start on a 6ft 3 well built guy, which was laughable! The ref was pretty poor in my opinion! SOrry for the rant! BRILLIANT RESULT1!!!

Only one word in my vocab to describe today.....IMMENSE .
The team , the management, the fans, the away end noise and last but not least, the performance.
Just can't focus on any specific moves or incidents as others have - too shattered & emotional. As others have stated, there were hugs and tears at the final whistle both on & off the pitch. SCP looked SO proud of his lads and the support we gave them...and rightly so. What a humble , special man he is.
Met Sir Peter Varney and Steve Sutherland at the Watford Gap Services on the way home. Peter said that SCP was pretty confident of getting the 3 points yesterday when they spoke - the mark of a Manager who has confidence in his team. Said we were surprised to see Dale Stephens on the bench so soon after his operation but Peter said he has apparently been excellent in training and is raring to get back - more good news although he'll have to dislodge the impressive Bradley Pritchard first.
A brilliant away day among good friends, especially Sir Don who gamely drives us up & down the country. To paraphrase that pathetic song we hear all too often " We're loving one another, the Charlton family "
Bring on the Blades !!!! Surely our cutting edge will blunt their challenge !

I bumped into Lawrence Bloom at Sheffield station and he told me that the whole squad did the 'yoyo' test on Thursday and Stephens won it by a mile!Lawrence said how desperate Dale has been to prove his fitness to Powelly and now he has done that!
Its such a good feeling to have yet another quality player available for selection (touch wood this remains the same)
Haven't heard any of the Wednesday fans who still think they're better than us mention the goal differences, ours is 31, theirs is 13. Got a little edge there, don't we?
Really really keen to go to another Charlton game now, thought i'd be able to make Chesterfield away but its my mum's birthday and apparently i can't go Don't think she realises that Charlton is as much my family as she is haha. Determined to make the Tranmere game though! Only 34 days to go
Great day, a bit stunned that we really seem to be doing the business. I thought BWP worked really hard finding openings down both wings and was unlucky with the one on one. A Charlton defence that can deal with ariel bombardment and loads of corners,a fantastic goal from the captain, its a Charlton wonderland.
Great match...SW were shading it but JJ's goal allowed us to settle and made them chase the game a little, I'm surprised the game finished 1-0, but I'm not complaining.
All in all a thoroughly professional job and another great team performance.

A big result against a MASSIVE club and I mean MASSIVE. The Gary Megson philosopy of football is, and always has been, fill the team with blokes over six foot and hoof it in the air. If it doesn't work, try again. He has made a lving out of anti-football for years and it's a disgrace.

Lol
"Semedo's booking was not a red card offense because it was in our half and was not a goalscoring opportunity" he said.
Definate closet case.
Big result today.
Think people have forgotten how Wednesday fans took the piss out of us when we went down from the Prem.
Love Megson, what a total loser.
Need to get The Valley rocking for next week.
All in all a thoroughly professional job and another great team performance.
