was gonna write some long spiel but why bother as it's already been said by all others. Great day out, we've definately got OUR Charlton back. Thanks SCP.
With the exception of having to go to Huddersfield and maybe the Scunny game, it looks like the toughest teams we can play, like Stevenage, Colchester, Notts County, Bury, Rochdale, teams that can really hurt you in the long run by shutting up shop and maybe nicking a counter and seeing the game out, will be at The Valley. That is massive huge for us. If we can get a result against Sheff U then it's still a very long way to go but we'll have set ourselves up very nicely for the run-in. I think we have to play 7 of the bottom 9 at home, not 100% on that but I'm too happy off this result to bother checking
These are the teams who will time waste from the beginning, put 10 men across their pen box, they'll throw themselves on the floor to try & get our players sent off, their centre backs will have our strikers in a head lock for 90 minutes, their managers will wave imaginary red cards to the ref & will basically just cheat & foul to try & get a draw...........oh sorry i've been on owlstalk a lot today, playing teams at the bottom could be tougher than playing some of the top teams as without the skill level they will just be more physical. Not saying we can't handle that but we may need a tin opener to get past the coach on the goal line!
I can't add to what everyone has said except to endorse it. I do recommend that you read what CP has said on the CAFC website this morning, it will tell you a lot about the man. Celebrating a year as Manager, and showing experience and intelligence, no wonder we say ' in CP we trust '. Lets remember however that this season is all about a total team, players, managers, coaches and of course supporters. Lets give Sheff Utd a lovely warm welcome on Saturday, and send them home knowing which is the best team in this League.
Highlights now on BBC. Was Wiggo who cleared it off line late on, then Jacko gave Hamer a mouthful! BWP did really well to create the one on one - good save by Weaver Lovely pass from Clarke to Russel, who should have hit it first time - don't understand criticism of Clarke for not shooting as he set Russel up in a better position
Oh, and nice gap in the wall left by agent Semedo for the free kick!
Chaps, we have won absolutely nothing yet. Results go against us next week we are back where we were. So do everyone a favour, stay off Owlstalk, keep the gloats under wraps, and lets just carry on going about our business.
I really do not think it is anyones place to tell people to "stay off" other clubs sites. If you like to have a gloat then have one for goodness sake. Gloating is very, very enjoyable. Ok, don't mention CL or use your name on here but go and wind them up and rub it in as much as you want. Just for the record, it is a fact that however any fan acts or whatever is typed on any message board will make no difference to what happens on the pitch when Charlton or any of our rivals play. Enjoy the good times. What is the point of us all just standing around with our hands in our pockets, whistling and staring at our shoes?
Some people bring up that we were wrong to enjoy the day we sent Palace down and that song has come back to haunt us. Rubbish! If you cannot enjoy the moment when you've relegated a local rival and made the most of it for years to come should not be involved in following a football team.
It's all peaks and troughs for the majority of supporters and if you don't enjoy the good times then what is the point?

Just read the Yorkshire Post thread. Mr. Mugson is a deluded man is he not. Managed to make my point without blaspheming once !! If it's good enough for SCP then it's good enough for me.
- Megson, on the other hand, questioned some of Charlton’s antics before kick-off. “When the referee presses the buzzer for us to go out, then we’re all supposed to go out, not have one team stand in the tunnel for four minutes waiting for the opposition,” he claimed.
Well if that is true and we can offer no reasonable excuse then I honestly think we should forfeit the game and give the points to Wednesday and also some to Sheff Utd seeing as we'd committed such an atrocity on their manor.....
All i keep hearing is him saying we were time wasting. i'm pretty sure having watched football for several years that being late in the tunnel before or even at half time does not then mean a 45miniute half becomes a 40miniute half. it hasent bloody started yet pigson! i think he's lost the plot. swearing at our players. having a go at the ref?! when his team were clearly lucky to escape a red card if not two. time wasting?! we were attacking as much as we could till the end. if anything, most of the time wasting came from their lot. messing about wiping the ball with a towel at every throw in.
Thats why over 2 games against us Wednesday received 9 bookings to our 2 - and I seem to remember not a little time wasting at the Valley after Morrison equalised for them after 56 minutes when some charm merchant took out Hamer. Perhaps Megson should look at his own team's antics and his one dimensional tactics before he starts criticising those of other teams.
Not really had a chance to read any reviews, but I went to the game. I must say within the first ten I thought gonna be a long game after Morrison missed a clearance and Taylor got mugged off in the corner. However we got the goal and closed the game out. What a fantastic set of players we have it showed how together they are at the end.
Special mention to BWP ran his socks off. Wiggins superb again. Clarke needs to get his fitness up looked a bit slow.
Great day out. Let down by some of the wendies outside spitting on us as we left and starting trouble....but you get that all over. Was brilliant seeing them all so pissed off haha!
SCP nice touch banging the badge, its a pleasure to have a manager that generally does love the club he manages.
