We have played 24 games this season and got 30 yellow cards. However when you realise that 5 of these cards (one sixth)came from the two matches that Mr G Scott refereed you have to question his decision making. He has however issued 95 yellow cards and 7 reds this season to date and it may possibly come to mind that he doesn't control games very well. He isn't the worst referee we have seen this season by a long chalk but having refereed two of our matches I wouldn't want him for a third.
Or his linesman ****Artis - who gave yet another fine performance at the Valley
see i think we are all that, we are strong , we are robust, we are very very fit , we have some real quailty in the team and we have aq real ability to know how to win
If you go on the Brentford forums, once again their fans say more or less 'Charlton are not all that', this has been the theme of loads of oppo fans this season.
I genuinely don't think we are 'all that' though, but we seem to have a good ratio of scoring goals / chances, and are relatively tight at the back. We aren't dominating teams and games like most top of the league sides do, but we still keep churning out decent results.
With that in mind, i think yesterday was a HUGE WIN, probably our best of the season. Brentford are pretty organised and give everyone a decent game this season. We to me are not firing on all cylinders at the moment, so to come away with a victory and increasing our lead at the top was a huge step. If this is our little wobble period where knocks creep in, to keep gaining victories, like yesterday and at Yeovil gives so much to be positive about, because i still think we are eyt to have our best spell of the season.
Oh behave!
You seen our goal difference lately? When was the last time you saw us have anything like that - the all-conquering team of Traore, Faye, Bent and Hasselwank?
I agree with nla on this. I think we are a very very good league one team with wire running through it. We score goals and we are defensively strong. We don't roll over to anyone and raise our performance in adversity. We have players of genuine quality and players who give their all. Will that be enough for promotion ? My answer is yes providing those positives remain. Can't see two better teams than us. As for next year. Will need significant strengthening to be promotion possibles but the basis of a decent Championship team is without a doubt there.

If we're lucky we might just be able to sneak a play off place, remember championship is a very tight league when a few consistant performances can catapult you up the league.
Again, if we hit a lucky streak.
But lets concentrate on getting out this league first!
I'm not so sure we need a lot of changing next season, maybe a couple of new faces at most. This is a new hungry team and it will be interesting to see how far it can go - we don't really know its full potential yet I think.
The day opposition fans come to the valley and then go home to there forums and say "Charlton are amazing" is the day Pardew gets a statue outside Airmans office!

Most wins in the football league
Most goals scored in our league
Least goals conceded in the football league
So we're obviously doing something right!
Compared to the teams we have had over the last few seasons this season is like watching Brazil..............and I don't mean Alan.
