Great win today against a well organised, physical Brentford side. These are the sort of games previous Charlton teams would have rolled over and lost.. good to see the grit we have in our team.
Clean sheet as well and a break from the league next week.
Quality, proffessional win... did what we had to do ... danny gets another ( i know hes going to be a big player for us this half season) Once BWP gets firing again, with Keermos bite, and fight, and grit... Jacko back.. Danny in the centre.. the back 5 (hammer still a bit flappy today) overall just very very good and very very confident going into the second half of the season...
Im maybe a bit over confident, but I love these guys... more so than any charlton team in years...
Come on you reds... Id LOVE it if we could do Sheff Weds.. just LOVE it ...
Great result! This team put '3' past Dons 2 days ago, so they are not a pushover. Sets us up nicely for the Wendies match. There is a god after all and he wears a red shirt on matchdays ;-)
I think our previous 4 was our blip, all over now onwards and upwards. Looking forward to the cottage. Brilliant win, think that is only their 2nd away defeat
6 points out of 9 over the Festive period - when two were away from home - not bad, not bad! Points wise our best Xmas period since 03/04 & the famous Chelsea/Spurs double.....
standard result that most of us secretly expected. don't think brentford ever really looked like scoring. i would like to see us get back to playing football again though.
No trying to defend the one goal lead at the end kept pushing forward - when we got the ball down on the floor we looked good Jacko made a big difference today - don't think any of the yellow cards were deserved - does Wiggins miss the Fulham game?
Hard fought against no mugs. Defence was superb and Holland back to his best in midfield. Jackson not yet fit but getting there. Just how good Is Kermagant in the air ? He wins everything. If I'm honest I thought Green was subdued today and his final ball was not there. Not dropping for BWP but he worked hard enough as far as I am concerned. Cort put in some massive blocks and Pritchard tidy but looks a bit slight to me. Clarke looked a yard slow to me so needs training ground work but we can't judge him on that. Very happy overall. COYR
In my view the players were suffering from knackeration, especially Solly and Hollands. However both Solly and Hollands had pretty good games, gave absolutely everything, and like the whole team showed that immense character we seem to have. Talking of immense Yann was awesome, there was one particular header in the direction of Clarke late in the game that deserved a standing ovation, because he got to the ball when well exhausted, bought us an 'out', bought us time, played in Clarke and generally inspired everybody.
For a full league debut Bradley Pritchard was also excellent, and Leon Cort grew into the game made some good challenges late on. I didn't think Brentford were that threatening, we had a spell after half time when we were particularly all over them, culminating in hitting the woodwork, mind you at 1-0 there is always danger so Danny Green putting his chance away so neatly was a wonderful sight.
The support wasn't helped by the upper north shenanigans, and the officials, as usual at this level, were 'eccentric'.
We can go to Fulham relaxed and in good heart, and must at least win the atmosphere/support battle over there.
Once again Charlton Athletic were asked questions, and answered with a win. First double of the season at our first opportunity. COYR

Winning every other game should see us promoted then?
"We shall not be moved!!"
The ob & stewards were about as organised as the Brentford defence.
