I seem to remember us getting thumped 4-1 there, our playoff promotion year, I think it was.
Yep was live on sky, Think Bright got the goal for us.
Was this the one where he came on as sub and scored from the corner on his first touch. Was discussing this in the other thread about scoring on his first touch and think I got confused with newcastle
It's all been said so I'll add something slightly different.
We have a squad of footballers who are all comfortable on the ball. Not one of our players panic when in possession, unlike most of last season's team, who often treated the ball like a hot potato.
This means that when under pressure, they don't lose it or hoof it, but still keep it & we continue to control the game.
We are the best footballing team in the League that I've seen, (although we haven't seen Hudds & Preston's 1st team yet) & MKD were very good.
I agree that our players are comfortable on the ball, but one other useful trait is that when defending our guys have no problem in putting the ball into touch, rather than try something complicated and loose the ball in a dangerous situation.
Reminded me of the 2-1 away win at Hudds (we still love you Johnny Robinson) around Xmas of the season we went back to the Prem (99/00).
It was the last televised match of the 20th Century.
A highflying side tipped for promotion - beaten on their own soil by the mighty Addicks, who themselves, lost only 4 times on the road all season.
If I recall, Huddersfield were top and had been for most of that first half of the season. For them, the wheels fell off after Charlton winning there - and they went into a bit of a freefall, missing even the playoff positions.
So a little lesson to remember: it's a 90 minute match, but also a 46 match season.
Rothko having a dig at the young'uns once nice and safe at home YET again? Sounds VERY familiar.
For a chap who isn't much in the way of looks, intelligence, or any interest himself, to continue slagging our fans off OVER THE INTERNET is quite something and goes a long way to describe how patheitc he is. A request to the large greasy chap in question, who finds thousands of bouncing Germans somewhat exciting, your are cordially invited to come up and say it to them in person and stop hiding behind your keyboard flag boy?!
At the end of the day there is a lot of posts in this thread saying how good the Atmosphere was from the away end, and the group of young'uns in Question are the explaination as to why we were so loud. Fair play for every one of them.
I was there in the relegation from the Prem, crap performance until Andy Reid scored, then crap performance then conceded two goals, went home peed off. A traditional day out for a charlton supporter so it is nice that we are having a few good ones.

Feel the love!
Actually sweetie, I did, as well as Clem, RedArmy and Buckshee say to your beloved kids to cut the nasty shit out, and actually support the team. Now, there was no keyboard in sight, and I did it from gangway D, Row T at Brammell Lane.
Now, can I go back to ugly, stupid, uninteresting life?
I understand that at times Jarman you could find Rothko quite condescending from his posts on here. However, I have to say that from a personal point of view back in the day there were plenty off here who made the effort to talk to/encourage the younger wave of CAFC to go to away games and feel part of it all.
All sorts of characters such as Ketman, Stu, Buckshee, Rothko, Les_Says, AFKA etc, could go on for ages. They all understood that at times the youngsters could go too far but in general appreciated that these people were the next wave/the future of the small club that we all support.
Don't really see how them getting pissed off with a few kids chanting about benefits can equal them being anti younger Charlton fans and young lads going to away games!
I would call it self poilcing, when I first started going there were plenty of older heads on the terrace who would say something about is younger supporters.
Same happens now, both at the ground, and online. I'm all for younger fans to take the singing workload of us 30 something's, but don't get upset if older fans point out when they think something's wrong

The highlight of that was my mate sitting down to watch it round my house, and realising there was a christmas tree blocking his view of the TV.
"What's this,a restricted view seat?"
He was grateful for it as the match unfolded....
Was thinking exactly the same, can still see Johnny Rs shot screaming into the top corner, bedlam in the pub !
;-)

What a great win! I still fancy Charlton and Preston to go up automatically. With Sheff United through the play-offs.
Well done to the team. Great football this season.
