I'm not a great believer in fate. It is merely coincidence that every time we put in a special effort for an 'operation' or fill the ground scheme that it sort of ends up with us getting a kick in the teeth. I am really looking forward to Saturday proving this point, with an entertaining and convincing victory, persuading some of those additional fans that there are worse things they could be doing than coming down the Valley on a matchday to watch a top of the table side.
However, I do believe in the law of averages so a positive outcome given that and the relative strength of the 2 teams sugests everybody will be happy come 5 o'clock. Let's have the Valley rocking and erase the memory of last season's false alarm against Exeter.
I would tend to agree with you Mutts but I think this years team seem to have something that makes me think that we will move on from last seasons false alarm and SCP will want to make a point to us the fans that we can put the end of season behind us
Do you know how many we have sold Airman Brown.... ? I'm in a quandry here as I bought my wrong seasont ticket to the Sheff Weds game.. filled in the form and handed it in at the ticket office on Saturday after (mistakenly expecting to get a cash refund less £3 admin fee) only to be told "thank you - we will send cheque in the post whcih was annoying". I have still not received my cheque but don't want to pester the staff as they're hands are tied at the momen

It's always been policy not to refund by cash and even if you mean you handed it in against Exeter I am not surprised you haven't had a cheque yet. I'd give it another fortnight at least as it has to go through the accounts department, not just the commercial centre.
Cant understand why we would get less for this game than Exeter last season, we are top of the league and unbeaten compared to being virtually out of the play off picture vs. Exeter

We were in the play-off picture before Exeter and had won four in a row with a new manager and board.(by Hartlepool away on the Tuesday most had already bought or committed to come) There was a certain amount of hysteria as well it the £5 offer being a novelty.
The novelty has worn off but with good weather we'll still get a good turn out. There is no real reason to compare the gate TBH although it is an interesting benchmark. More important will be if the offer generate enough income to match what we would normally have got a full price and what the long term impact will be on our gates. To a large extent that we depend on the atmosphere and the result.

The gate will be 20,000 or thereabouts tomorrow night and the home matchday sale was 2,000 in February. I expect it to be better. Ticket receipts will be up at that attendance and the marketing cost will be picked up by profit on ancillary spend. So overall there is no cost to the promotion and there may be a financial benefit, depending on the walk-up.
I think if we don't make 24,767 - and I don't rule that out at all - it will be because Exeter was driven by novelty and it was a poor result.

Leave that poxy old flag at home please, chaps! It's old and grotty and just gets in the way.
Just bought 37 tickets from the club shop, that should help a bit.
37 tickets equal 185 quid.
The equivalent of 2 tickets for Arsenal.
Football is bonkers.
