  • 3 points, unbeaten and Second in the league.....performance wasn't brilliant, we got our bit of luck today, but the 3 points is all that matters.

And yet people are still moaning about little things like the programme or big screen.....be happy people!
  • I sit in the East Stand H block, bang in line with the goal line. The whole ball didn't cross the line. Good call by the lino

  • I am still 100% certain that the whole of the ball did not crossed the Line.

I sit in the NWQ and look directly along the goal line. The whole of the ball definitely didn't cross the line.

    ME TOO!
  • Got to say I thought a few of the boys looked quite tired today. Wiggins not included, it looked to me as if we were a yard or two off the pace.

  • No - I agree about the song - it is a disgrace and as a exeter fan I am embarressed when i hear it.

As a family club we want to respect other fans and players(and officials) and there is no place for that type of behaviour.

So you can guess today was not good for me

  • Shocking performance, why we didn't score 8 goals against 10 men is beyond me , another clean sheet and another 3 points , boring , boring Charlton , booooo , sack the board , Chris Powell and take down the big screen , the referee spoilt the game after 20 minutes by sending that 'vocal' Exeter player off , he should have given them that 'Goal' as well , 5 wins from 7 games , truely shocking start, i guess it will take time to gel as they say.
  • Didn't think that the whole of the ball crossed either.
  • Whats the tune called that the trumpets , drums and cow bell were playing towards the end of the match?

    Oh come on!
The voice of reason you say?
We have drawn two games at home. TWO.
    FOUR points dropped.
Open your eyes. We are in free fall.
And the programme, and our fans and the screen and something else.....
  • the last 3 home performances have been a bit tired

we played chuff, i thought, today and i think exeter were giving as good as they were getting up to the sending off

waggy and jacko were non existant and the two full backs did most of the wing play

solly is improving game on game and i was a big doubter and i'd have him as joint MOM with bwp who worked his socks off and should be in the premiership no doubt

4 teams will be battling for the top two us, two sheffields and huddersfield

    15% autos 83% play offs 2% a nightmare ending

  • I really don't care what video footage is being quoted. No camera as far as I am aware looks directly along the goaline which is my view from NW quad and the ball didn't cross the line FACT.
  • My first game of the season due to cricket commitments.
I was genuinely impressed by the brand of football we are trying to play - long may it continue.
Looking back, Parky showed us a reasonably effective style of football, within the limitations of the direct game.
CP took the squad on and attempted to make them play a game which was beyond their capabilities.
CP now has the personnel to put his principles into action.
We are more than good enough to get out of this league and, with a few additions, compete in the Championship.
  • Exeter came to shut up shop. When they went down to 10 min it made little difference as it meant they just had one less striker, one less player to chase the ball around while we passed it between our back line. There defence and midfield was still very much intact so the red card didnt create any space further up the field.

Sloppy passing and some players not very energetic today. Saying that, we still could have scored loads. BWP was unlucky, could easily have got another 2. Hayes was really bad today, apart from a nice chipped through ball down the wing in the second half he was useless. His first touch is no good and his lay-offs arnt much better.

Solly is absolute quality. Great player.

Good finish by Stephens, Needs to find space infront of him a bit more and make forward balls.

We played average and still could have scored loads.
  • Shooters - forgeting about the game- it's bloody frustrating isn't it when you have seen it clearly and 95% (possibly more) including possibly the cameras haven't had that right angle. What it says to me is that football needs the micro chip in the ball technology. I feel a bit sorry for the officials here because the lino made a fantastic decision and it is looking like he is going to be criticised for it.

Cant those of you who were unfortunate enough not to have that magic perfect view just accept that we did. We are not fibbers!

Think you should write to the lino Muttley and congratulate him on a great decision ;0)
  • Regarding their goal/non-goal, the lino needs to be 100% certain that it crossed the line, he wasn't and so correctly gave the defending team the benefit of the doubt. These things balance out and it seems that Solly's shot also crossed the line.

Feels like not many others will - I usually hate them because they get so many things wrong but this poor sod got it right. lol Blackforest - what is this also crossed the line nonsense - et tu Brute?

  • Bloody hell does it even matter if it went in or not, it wasn't given and life goes on.

  • It doesn't matter at all and life does go on but it didn't cross the line.

Furry muff. From where I was sitting it looked in and i was pretty much in line with it in the east. No-one is calling you a fibba. Everyone is just saying what they saw from there different views.

Don't agree with goal line technology. Maybe in world cups, euros and champs league. But football is all about opinions. If there correct decisions all the time we would have nothing to chat about
  • It's all been said but I don't know what people are complaining about. It looked fairly even for a while but then when they got a man sent off we slowed it down, played it patiently across the back and made sure we kept possession. After going 1-0 up we just made sure that they weren't going to score and they never looked like it. Solid performance from the team. I was also lucky enough to be in an area of the ground where I didn't hear a single bit of complaining, which I was very happy about. Great day all round
  • I'm happy, didn't play particularly well but won. Am concerned that if BWP gets injured we will be in trouble. Waggy, sadly, disappointed. So too Jackson. MOM was Solly, put in a cross that Waggy can only dream of. BWP, clinical again and worked his nuts off. Everyone else did ok.
  • We are joint top - unbeaten in 8 games having won 6 of them and are well above the 2 points average per game which guarantees automatic promotion. We have a tight defence and the best stirker in the league. Just a reminder to those who have forgotten. COYRs

It looked like a training exercise for 70 minutes of the match, but unfortunately I thought we played like it was a training exercise. Solly and BWP were the only two on the pitch who actually looked 'sharp'. The rest were too lazy on the ball. Although the 'brand' we're working on is something to be cheered, the lack of effort with which we tried to produce it today was a little bit worrying.

I didn't understand why we were forced to pass it back to the goalkeeper on so many occasions when every time we moved it down a wing, then brought it back and switched it to the other wing, we found a winger or full-back standing near the edge of the box with a lot of time to pick out a pass/cross. We really didn't do that enough today.

Thought Solly was outstanding and Wagstaff's movement was excellent. As someone else said, imagine what we'll be like when we click.

One more point. If Jackson keeps coming inside then he is quite obviously being told to do so.
  • Whats the tune called that the trumpets , drums and cow bell were playing towards the end of the match?
The muppets theme tune possibly? The chorus to the Burning ring of fire was also repeatedly sung
  • Can I state that from my seat in the NW Upper and in direct line with the goaline. The ball did not cross the line. I am 100% certain. Played some nice stuff at times today but it's absolutely clear that we have no impact up front from the bench. A striker coming in is absolutely essential.
Me too SHG, and I thought the ball did cross the line.
Just shows how difficult it is making a snap decision.
And , Len Glover, I question whether the linesman was in an ideal position as he never got within 5 yards of the line.
Will be interesting to see the replay.
  • Never mind all this 'Was it a goal? Did we play well?' stuff. The exeter fan getting thrown out at half time was one of the funniest things I've seen at a football match.  It took at least five people to carry him out, with him squirming like a difficult fish the whole way.  Then, just before he disappeared, he got in a brilliant comedy angry fist shake.MOM without a doubt.

The football was okay and it might have crossed the line.
