I have to say that the Exeter 'goal' didn't look like the whole ball was across the line, from where I was sitting. Overall, decent performance but we can play much better. Lacked a bit of a finishing touch but I'm sure with more time spent together, it will come together.
from where I was sat the whole of the ball didn't look like it was over the whole of the line.
Regarding our play, people moan when we hoof it long, ans shout 'play football'. Then when we keep the ball and pass it around the back they moan and shot 'Get it forward'. These morons really depress me. What do they want us to do?! Never happy...
We played well, kept the ball but lacked the cutting edge. Wagstaff doesn't do enough as a winger so I'm afraid Green should come and replace him. Hayes played well, a couple of bad touches apparently means you deserve to be booed. What lunacy.
I honestly don't understand what peoples problems are. When you win, does it have to be down to THE perfect performance? I just despair sometimes.
Another win, meaning I am very pleased with our performance. 3 points is all you can ask for.
I can only think with the sending off he said something pretty damn bad. Even if he did keep going on at the Lino I would have thought the ref would have just gave him a yellow
Also in the NW corner, the ball DID NOT cross the line. Nardiello was a complete numpty.
Full credit to Tisdale. He set Exeter up with a midfield diamond last season, which enabled Noble to go free and boss the game. He set up with a 5-3-2 this season and set out to stifle Hayes and BWP dropping off to collect passes played into feet. His tactics made it very difficult for us to play through them, even when they adapted to 4-4-1 and then 4-3-2 after the break. Wagstaff and Jackson came inside too often instead of offering width and our passing lacked the required speed to break them down. Too many crosses were hit and hope. Tisdale is a clever tactician.
Solly was MoM for me, BWP is class at this level and Hamer needs to get a pair of boots with proper studs. 5 wins and 2 draws from 7 games...great start to the season.
I found myself by the corner flag as the Exeter 'goal' went in, looking right down the line. I wouldn't have complained at all if it had been given. Routine win in the end. I'm still not sure how good we are.

Good enough for an 8 match unbeaten start to the season! Yee ha!
Positives: BWP different class, Solly improving all the time, centre back pairing looks more solid than any season since we were in the premiership. Hamer's best game so far. Good team spirit. Good results elsewhere.
Negatives: Bench is too thin, no one who can change a game, they all appear to be there for injury cover only. Midfield not at its best today.

My thought too, Randy. Couldn't clap & cheer that decision when we see premiership players mouthing obscenities on the TV week after week & rarely being penalised. Was thinking how we would have felt if the boot had been on the other foot, so to speak. Don't think our fans would have taken it as well as the majority of the Exeter faithful did, especially if we were the away team...
That apart, as everyone on here has said, a win's a win and for once we were able to take advantage of MKDons' and Sheff Utd's slip ups.
However, the casual way in which we appeared to play at times did concern me . Can't be more specific but the lads didn't seem to be "busting a gut" to win the ball as much as they did in the first 3 matches this season. Just hope that complacency hasn't taken a hold & that SCP is continually reminding them of the "second eleven" waiting their chance to show what they can do a la Reading game.
Like most on here, Solly was my MOTM by a long way but thought Bradley looked more industrious than he has tended to be in the past, and played a much bigger part in the win as a result. SO pleased that the manager has kept the faith with young Chris - he's such an intelligent and hard working player. A credit to the Academy and all who have helped bring out the best in him.
I would really have liked to have given Exeter a proper going over to set a marker to all the other teams, but when they went down to ten that became much harder. Credit to them, they did not panic, they organised well to play with ten, but never really looked like scoring (that one chance aside- which from North lower, behind the goal DID NOT cross the line).
Not sure if the ball was over the line or not as I was sitting in the east stand
Nards was silly not sure if it should of been a red or yellow. Should have the linesmans taken action earlier before letting the situation become out of control. Havings said that Nards was silly and i was disappointed in him.
Charlton deserved there victory - no complaints.
A question though was BWP naughty waving to the exter fans when he was taken off - open mind. .

Perhaps some of us were clapping and cheering because we would like the same thing to happen when premiership players do the same thing in front of our kids everyweek. I didn't see any more of the same after the guy was sent off.

I was perfectly placed and am 100% also that the ball was on the line but clearly did not cross it - I'd wager my life on that I saw it so clearly from my position. We also don't know what was said- you have to know to comment on whteher the sending off was right or not I would assume. He will be embarressed though when he sees the lino was correct.
As for Hayes, he has flair- he looks for an incisive pass -something clever- sometimes it is what you need to open up a team. His touch is very good more often than not. We shouldn't underestimate that quality. I'll take the bad with the good because I think he brings something very important to the side.
Thought the sending off ruined the game as a spectacle - Powell is a cautious manager - he won the game the low risk way where we probably wanted us to throw the kitchen sink at them. He was probably right though and his professionalism is showing through and it was a straightforward 3 points.

He was waving to the peeps saying bad things about his mum. Very restrained IMO.
I guess the solly / francis debate is now settled. Well I will say it I told you so. Maybe some of you lot should get down to see the youth team and see what is coming through.I can't believe elthamaddick was calling for him to be dropped after mondays game. This boy is a proper footballer.
Regarding the ball/line controversy, I'll just add that Chris in his post match interview says he has seen the video playback and really the score should have been 3-1, but on both occaisions the officials were unsighted. nuff said

No. What IS "naughty" is calling a man's mother a whore.
Also, I sit in the East at the corner flag and it looked a goal to me. Exeter just had no luck today.
I thought Solly bossed the right, Waggy still needs to work on his crosses and Jacko once again didn't really turn up. I don't know what is wrong with Johnnie, he isn't the same player he was last year.
It was on the line but did not cross it but I suppose it depended on your angle how you saw it was so close -but the ball didn't cross - I was fortunate enough to see it clearly -take it from me- not that it matters- the ref didn't give it anyway but was a close as you can get without it being a goal. Even If the TV angle looks like it crossed the line -I'll still know it didn't btw and the few who had as good a view as me will back me up I'm sure.
From where I was in the east it looked over the line and I was shocked it wasn't given. Powell said he saw it on the laptop and it looked over.
Re bwp waving or running to the exeter fans after his goal. Fair play to him. I remember the Exeter fans singing that song last year about his mum and luckily today he shut them up. Pretty shore he wound the ones up that got kicked out aswell. Haha
Yes I am - I know what I saw. Come on there must have been a few that saw it as clearly as me- my brother was with me and was just as certain it was on the line but did not cross it.

Sat in the family stand I had a clear view. about half of the ball had crossed the line when Hamer stopped it. We were lucky not to concede from it!
