The guys standing guard in Blackheath Village last nite were from Blackheath cars.
PC world in Charlton and that area all smashed up. Looks like the even hit the BP petrol station further down the road.
Funny the the shutters rae being taken down at the Sun in the Sands boozer after the refrub re the fire in its kitchen ! what a time to take the shutters off.
Roads are very quiet, lots of people staying at home.
So they call the England game off but the Met can hamdle the Olympics ?i would have a bet that the good old NottingHill riot will still be on though.
Of course safety in numbers. How do you think these Turkish communitys are fending them off?...its not one bloke armed with a doner kebab is it!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
We have been given a warning that it could come to our town, why shouldn’t we defend it in numbers?
Politicians ( of all colours) won't have any answers and neither will they understand what has been creeping up on us for some years now. One problem is that conviction (old school) politicians have been replaced with the Eton type career politicians who live their lives isolated from everday society and believe that all of society is middle class and plays by the same rules. They have absolutely no idea of how some people live their lives, or the depths of dysfunction that exist within the underclasses. It's ordinary people who are bearing and will continue to bear the brunt of these hideous acts, whilst the safe leafy worlds of politicians continue without interruption. I don't have any idea how we are going to turn this around, I just hope it stops very soon.
Because Gary those seeking to defend their high street will be those frustrated at having to watch it on telly and wanting a piece of the action. Don't want to riot but giving a rioter a kicking is the next best addrenelin rush. They won't be formed by some overriding force of good but just an excuse to get their kicks.
You defend your home. You defend your family. You leave the protecting of the local Argos and Poundland up to the police.
If I hear the words 'robust policing' once more I'll bloody go mad!! Its political speak for....we don't know what to do but it sounds good!!
Action speaks louder than words and our police have their hands tied....the scum are laughing at them knowing two things - firstly they probably wont get caught and secondly if they do (get caught) they go to court and get a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again...oh and a fine that they can easily pay (or not if they decide not to) out of selling just 1 item that they have nicked!!
Started off in chatham, gillingham and rainham last night, not as bad as london but its spreading
Did it? I was told that was all twitter rumours. I live reasonably close to Gillingham town centre (there I've admitted it!) and did not hear one siren all night, walked to the station this morning and didn't apear to be anything happen. (Cue all the how would you be able to tell jokes) ;-)
Tory MP on TV saying he was in London all day yesterday and didn't see any trouble....agrees there was trouble in "a few isolated areas"....."which needs sorting"...........what hope have we got?
Let's hope the scum in the video get named and shamed. Were some similar riots here in Vancouver (over a hockey game) a few weeks back. Tonnes of people got shopped in by fellow Vancouverites... hopefully the same will happen in London.
That clip of that injured lad being mugged is utterly sickening
I cant watch it Dan, it will make me cry.
The bloke that dipped his rucksack has his face plastered over numerous social networking sites. He'll be nicked.
As much as I think the courts etc in this country are weak, I genuinelly believe that anyone found guilty of being involved in this will be made an example of.

Spot on, I think anyone found guilty will be doing some serious bird.

This is true, I'd also suggest that deep down they won't particularly care about what's going on as long as their homes, families and livelihoods are not at risk. They live in a world completely detatched from everyday Britain
According to my other half there is a horrible tension in eltham this morning. loads of people expecting the high street to take a hit. a few scarfed and hooded youths already milling about.

It's the worst thing that I have seen so far. Horrified by it.
