OMG rambling fool on Sky News in Bristol - was involved in the Bristol riots in the 80's. Think he's been smoking crack ever since.
how funny was that? We need to find it on YouTube? Did anyone just see that block getting cracked over the head by the police? Good work should have continued beating him.
Footage of the Police officer hitting the guy in a white hooded top over the head with his baton in Hackney was refreshing - shame he got up. Need to see much more of this - its the only answer. By the way, where the f**k is Cameron - the Cobra meeting ended at 10.15am?

Parliament being recalled? He needs to provide an immediate fix to this problem or this will be his downfall. A short sharp statement and no friggin' cliches.
It doesn't make the thiefs any less lowlife but I wonder whether that fella had been involved at all?
I doubt it, the guy was wearing sandles!!!
As for those people saying those caught and found guilty will be doing serious time, I just can't see it myself, our prisons are already over capacity, where are we going to put them all?

An immediate fix? What like sprinkling magic pixie dust over the country? Get real - there ISNT a quick fix.
Agree to an extent with Valley Gary's post above that people should feel free to protect not only their properties but their businesses too. The Turks were out in Dalston last night, stood in front of their shops, armed with machetes and axes, I doubt you would see a similar proportion of white folk being up for doing the same but if this carries on tonight you will see vigilante groups across the capital tooled up ready to protect themselves, there's not much the police can do about it.

Interesting. If the extra police Cameron promises show any sign of the weakness shown last night then there really could be vigilante groups forming. I hope the politicians aren't so removed from reality to realise this.
How about emergency powers for police and curfews being imposed. The army could be utilised to support Police. Authorisation of appropriate force by Police in serious public order situations. Minimum prison sentences for those caught rioting - shall I continue Floyd or would you suggest a commitee meeting sat crossed legged on bean bags drinking herbal tea on a date in the future? Meanwhile people on this forum fear for their safety in certain areas...........and you tell ME to get real!
Glad we are having an increase in OB for London tonight by a substantial amount....but if they are not allowed to act tougher then I cant see it being much of a deterrent.
Lets hope though, for the sake of everyone (and the country) that we have seen the end of this, or at least a massive reduction in the rioting........or am I being too hopeful?
Never will ... wonder if OB will hold back as they did last night? They seem to be trying to stop this with their hands tied ... which ain't going to work.

no words to describe how disgusting this is
Theresa May was about as reassuring as one of Les Reeds press conferences.
She should stick to modelling shoes.

Thanks Mr Cameron. I'll sleep easy tonight knowing that you will be having a debate after you make a statement on Thursday.
FFS. Very very simple. Let the Old Bill twat them. Water Cannon, Baton Rounds and Tazers. Meet force with force.
"Big Society". We won't have a society if this goes on much longer.
Came back from holiday for that?
mmm so helpful isn't it ... and someone please get rid of Theresa May ... totally useless
16,000 police tonight? Feels very much like clsoing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
Why were there so few officers on the streets last night? 8 coppers trying to defend a street in Woolwich.
