Certainly agree with Oggy and now Henry that if Hayes can bring what Burton did but add a few more goals than Deon did then he should certainly hold our interest.
We are building a TEAM good enough for the championship - doesn't mean they will all make it.
I didn't think Grant Holt would step up to championship level - 20 goals later and I was wromg (now doubting he is good enough for the Prem).
Agree - and not even just a team, a squad. If we win promotion you'd hope/expect a decent number make the step up. Others would be let go, even if they did well at this level. Look at Kish at Brighton or Doherty at Norwich, good players for them in League 1, played their part but need replacing once in the Championship.
He actually travelled down last night and has been visiting his parents in Dagenham today. Is staying in the area tonight.
Going to the Valley tomorrow and meeting the Chairman. Having a tour around the training ground and of course a medical. So assuming he passes his medical and there are no last minute hitches in terms of contract, he should sign tomorrow.
I'll keep you informed of any further developments tomorrow.

Paul Hayes is travelling down on Monday for talks on Tuesday. If everything agreed he will also sign on Tuesday.

Dodgy manager was Craig, eevn worse than Paul Ince!,
I would have loved to see us sign James (Ro)Chester before his move from man U to Hull, VERY promising and proficient central defender.
Gordan (Chisle)Hurst
Just as long as it isn't Jimmy Floyd Road Hasselbaink.
Call me a cab.
