All those people saying folk are way off the mark selecting players who played for us in the Premiership as the worst players obviously either never saw Amdy Faye play, know nothing about football or had shit in their eyes. Faye was barely good enough to play for a conference side - he was utterly f***ing dismal. There must have been something moody about his agent - there's no other reason that c*** should have been a professional footballer.
O'Connell was shite, but at least he put a shift in. Redfearn just never settled down here, and we had him a season too late. Too young to remember Plumb!
Leroy I think Plumb came from non league Yeovil at the time and you've had a result in being a lot younger than me! By the way what's the clubhouse at The Oaks like these days after being raised to the ground by fire a few years ago?
F***ing horrible, to be honest. Looks like a soulless leisure centre. I actually quite like the course, but I'm not a member there - most of them are so far up their own arses it makes Addington Palace look welcoming. I've only been playing a few months and love the game, but by christ there are some f***ing arseholes that play it.
Ha - yeah, it's not as if the place is anything special. I like the par 3 12th with the elevated tee, and the long slog up the seventh - and I got my first ever eagle at the downhill par 4 sixth so that holds a special place in my heart, but the course itself is pretty average, and the facilities are pretty crap, tbh. The 9 hole course is nice, but filled to the brim with chavs most days.
Broken 100 three times now - once at the oaks (98 - would have been 96 if I hadn't naused up the 18th after driving to within forty feet of the green). Average about 102 - which I don't think is bad considering I'd never picked up a club until February and had never had a lesson until this week.
Daft to suggest it was one of the premiership squad - although Tony Caig will probably be the only keeper to have played in the premiership and never conceded a goal to be considered amongst the worst players at their club. They were playing two levelsy higher than the current shower. Abbot was pretty consistently dreadful. Mike McCammon seemed like a lumbering lummox if we're going back a little.
Don't like Murphy as a person, but to be fair, I think he did want to win games and try and score goals (unlike the manager at the time bar the first few games of that season). I can see his point of view at not wanting to play in a 10-man defence
People who nominate Peter Shaw either never saw him play or have poor memories. Admittedly he wasn't too clever when he first came into the team & some cretins decided it would be fun to start the chant "we all agree Peter Shaw is a wanker" Unlike some we've had he never let it get to him, he never gave less then 100% & ended up being a very important member of our back four. Tremendous tackler & commitment to the team, never shit out of anything & would throw any part of his body in the way of shots etc. If our team over the last few years had shown half of the commitment Peter Shaw did then we wouldn't be in the shit that we are now.
Terry Bullivant got a lot of stick if i remember rightly. Anyone remember the ginger haired lad we got from ( or sold to) Millwall back in the early eighties?

Is out of contract. Would sign him.
