The single worst 'performance' I witnessed by a then Charlton player was Scott Sinclair's debut in March(?) 2008
He was 'only' 19 and had the misfortune to arrive with us in Pardew's tenure in the Championship.
He had already played men's football at Chelsea, Plymouth and QPR
He was visibly disinterested, barely even ran around, misplaced a pass or two and hysterically overacted when tackled
After giving him an on field bollocking during that debut, Pardew still selected him another couple of times, off the bench, before he slunk back to Chelsea after barely a month.
His subsequent career demonstrated he was a player of some talent, but his appearance in Charlton red in SE7 was disgraceful, for me the worst. When I consider the amount of dross that has been served up in the years since, that showing remains the most ignominious I've seen in 38(ish) years0 -

For some reason we walked round and stood behind that goal for the second half, absolutely right the ball never made it to the net. We got murdered and somehow won 1-0. I think the night before Killer walked out because we were bringing Flanagan back, although they patched it up later.1

Has there been a mention of Joe Ledley? Managed 45 minutes before being subbed and never seen again if memory serves me right.2

Leon Best springs to mind, contributed nothing but an own goal away at Blackburn

The own goal came through a pass back after the defender cut out the hopeful punt forward. He tapped it back but Alec Chamberlain had got too close near the edge of the box and ended up chasing after it in vain. Westley got sent off and we didn't have a shot all game, while they had masses of chances. Won 1-0.
Lost to Watford at home in the 4th Round and despite a huge 22,000 crowd, we went bust a few weeks later.1 -
