[cite]Posted By: scabbyhorse[/cite]Thats what i heard too boogica , i think we will find out how much money really is behind us in the next few days!

heard money isnt a problem ,stumbling block is time to sort it out and whether we can wait long enough.

And perhaps whether or not Poyet would want the upheaval? Not sure why he would give up all he has built at Brighton to try and work miracles for us in half a season.
  • all the politics of football ,the thing is he is our 1st choice and we will all have to wait and see what happens.
  • As unlikely as I think the Poyet option is, I can't see how anyone can completely rule it out, as nobody knows exactly how much money we have.

Money does talk, not just in terms of how we can pay Poyet but also the attraction of having endless amounts to spend, something Brighton could never offer.

Still think it's incredibly unlikely though as I very much doubt we have anywhere near the money it would take.
  • Could be Gus has a contract clause that allows him to talk to anyone he wants and has a set fee compensation amount ? Who knows. Agree it's very unlikely though.
  • wouldn't it be cheaper to get hughton?
  • Hoddle now 11/4

    WTF?
  • Please not hoddle. Not sure I'd like hughton either.

    Curbs, Howe or Poyet please.
  • [cite]Posted By: Vincenzo[/cite]Hoddle now 11/4

    WTF?

Bookies slashes odds for random manager, leading to wild speculation and false rumours, bets are placed, odds falls further.

    Bookies, as always, win.
  • Poyet first choice by a mile for me

With Howe off to palace that's B'mouths season in turmoil so if we can wreck Brighton that just leaves Adkins snd Lee Clark as our biggest threats
  • Poyet easily out in front for me as well. But........... as Slater and Varney have already made less than committed noises about the future of the Academy based upon finacial imperatives, then wouldn't Poyet be way too expensive? Or is it all part of the cunning under the radar plan?

  • Hodgson?
  • How many more sleeps until the big announcement? I'll start a countdown.
  • Would be interesting and a sign of intent by the board. Someone on here mentioned if Wise was going to get it then surely it would be a done deal already and he would be here trying to get his transfer targets.

Going to be interesting in the next few days when we hear rumours of who has applied for the job.

    Curbs, Howe or Poyet please.[/quote]

Palace have asked permission to speak to Bournemouth about Howe.

Hughton or Poyet would be my choice, but I can't see the latter breaking his contract and maybe Hughton being just out of a job will want a rest and time to wait for a bigger club. He did a good job with Newcastle and he can do much better than Charlton and he'll get better offers if he's patient.
  • [cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]Hodgson?

He could bring back the prodigal son with him
    Konchesky Jonjo

Surprised no one has mentioned Kenny Jacket yet.

Proberly nowt in it but gus poyet drove past me as I left work coming up charlton church lane in a massive merc 4x4 at around 6.30pm tonight that is gospel truth on my bible I swear not stiring just passing on what I saw as going to the bus stop

Why not Hoddle? He got Swindon into the PL and did well at Chelsea.
  • If you look at some of the names at the top of the betting they are there because of their perceived links either to Charlton (Curbs) or to Jimeniz and Slater (Poyet, Clarke and Wise). I doubt they are there because there's much money being lumped on them, I presume the bookies thinking that the club might go for an obvious target have given them low odds, just in case.

    Who is Neil McDonald?>

A very mediocre defender who Everton signed from Newcastle shortly after the Toffees' fall from grace began in the late 1980s.

He was also Dowie's assistant at Palace.

If it wasn't for the fact that Poyets son plays for us I would be very exited by this post Adam.

Didn't someone say Poyet lives in the area anyway? Neighbour (next door?) to Jimenez.
