[cite]Posted By: Badger[/cite]And How much would Charlton pay in compensation to get him from Brighton if he was to leave?
Depends on if there are a clauses in his contract. May be a set amount in there. Surprised he signed a four yr contract, maybe there had to be certain concessions for him to do so?
1 Someone claims to be in the know on here
2 there is obviously money being put on it
3 there are personal connections with Gus (house. Jimenez. Poyet Jr)
"I'm pleased I am not in the position of many managers. If they want to sack me they have to pay three-and-a-half years of my contract. Equally, if I want to leave tomorrow I have to pay out my contract. It's difficult for me to go and difficult for the chairman to sack me, so it's a good relationship."
A very special job would have to come along to take him away from the South Coast at the moment.
Not many manager are given the opportunity to direct their own mini revolution. He's been given the opportunity of rebuilding the playing side from the ground up and has a remarkable degree of control with the finance to back it.
At least he will walk out in the stadium next season, promotion or not.
I have to chuckle at these next Manager markets. The way layers make money on them is by offering ludicrously cramped odds on anyone remotely connected to the appointment. Rumour upon rumour and backers wade in again and again. In Skybet's book Wise, Poyet and Curbs alone make up more than 100%.
Betfair (who I work for) offer a market on next Managers but only for the Premiership and other major European/International Teams. In some cases there have been as many as half a dozen candidates who have traded at odds on at one time or another. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that, when this happens, it becomes a licence to print money for a layer.
Not on the sky bet list i will give you a name and reasons.
As said by many people on this site somebody else a 3rd party is behind this takeover with big money.
Who about a qualified lawyer, speaks many languages and has worked in London before.
Only downside i can see works for The Croatia FA.
Name Slaven Bilic.
That i would be happy with.

John Solako at 100's ! :L
A fair amount, no doubt Brighton would be doubly annoyed to see him go to a promotion chasing opponent so would hang out for as much as they could.
That though is down to Jimeniz and Slater to pay, however they carry with them the reputation of the club.
yep bang on but if someone knows something then obviously prices change ,bookies are f--kers we all know that.
People just don't throw there money away these days!!
The remainder of his contract, he's been quoted a few times and is quite open about it:

Chris Hughton would be good - as with Poyet it's just a question of how much money we've got.
I wouldn't mind Southgate but then we haven't done too well with ex-Palace players as managers, have we?
Please please, not Wise. Anyone but him.

He worked with Jimeniz at Newcastle, so they would certainly know each other, whether he wants to work with him again is a moot point.
At least he is out of work and presumably still negotiating his exit fee from Newcastle so no one to pay off.
