Impressive again. As NSS says I'd love to see him in his proper position.

Really rate him, and think he can only get better.
    Nice gem we've unearthed here.

[cite]Posted By: northstandsteve[/cite]Unfortunately though teams are already wising up to him coming inside, Tranmere continued to show him the outside all day, would love to see him right back.

this - at LB he's far to easy to play against

The kid did very well, although is still a little defensively niave (I believe he kept their striker onside for their goal). Although, for obvious reasons the goal was francis's fault. However, we cant start blaming people, we just need to try and get some form back.
  • Mark Bowen was not shabby for a right foot LB. If we'd kept him 1st year in Prem I' m sure we'd have stayed up.

Considering he's playing in a poor side that is lacking in confidence , he is definitely a plus point in what is another poor season . Not sure that left back suits him though.
  • playing with the most confidence out of position looks a good one for the future

    Sums it right up.
Can't wait for him to play for us in position.

  • How encouraging that despite all the doom and gloom of the past five years we have still managed to produce the likes of Shelvey, Jenkinson, Wagstaff, Solly and Elliot, with Cousins, Harriet, Tuna and Mambo also knocking on the first team door.
Shows what a great job Gritty did and perhaps getting him back on board should be one of our priorities.
Shame we saw so little of Jonjo because I think we could have built an exciting team for the future around these players.

Once Besone is fit to come back in at LB, it might be worth moving this lad in to the central midfield for a go. He seems confident and capable on the ball and moves forward with the ball unlike our current CM crabs. He will win his share of tackles & aeriel balls and could possibly be a good anchor midfield man.

The thing I loved most was that he always wants the ball and aint afraid to go looking for it

Yeh, could be much more useful to us in midfield and he can shoot! I actually think Solly could be a tenacious little midfielder as well. Shame we can't clone another 10 of Jenks.

Has impressed me alot espeically playing at left back. Feel sorry for Solly as I think he has a lot to offer but injuries have pushed him down the order.

Some of the performances Francis has got away with this year due to having no cover has been borderline criminal at times, although he has got better last few months.

Solly Dailly Llera Jenks, as a back 4 has plenty of pace in it. Solly and Jenks may be inexperienced but I really don't it matter in this league when you have Doherty/Fortune/Dailly/Francis making mistakes every game

Both Jenkinson and Solly have played games at CM before. Would be interesting to see either of them play there. We know we'll need some new midfielders in the summer but maybe one of them is already here.

Well it's the perfect level to try them in CM.

Hope we keep Solly in the summer if he's out of contract as I think he has alot to offer and we could regret it

Jenkinson was being watched by Man U but then had an injury and was off for some time.

Stavrinou is another to consider for CM .'He was on the bench yesterday.

Have watched his career progress from a young age and am really pleased that he has got in the first team. He is a very committed individual and when he played for the U18s was always organising and berating team mates if they didnt do the right thing. Notice he did that to Semedo on Saturday when he gave the ball away outside his own penalty area. I like that in a young player i wish i would see it a bit more amongst the senior pros. Would like to see more of him in his natural position of right back. We are well served at right back with Solly, Jenkinson, Conor Morris, Cousins plays there for England and everybody's crowd favourite Francis. What we need is a young left footed full back to push on to the first team.Joe Carter for me is not good enough.

Have you seen much of Morgan Fox, could he be good enough in a few years? Or is he more of a centre back than left back?

Hard to see us turning full backs into midfield play-makers. Both would surely be competing with Semedo for the midfield anchor role - you need to be a bit more than just comfortable on the ball if you going to get your head up and pick out runners when under pressure on the ball. It's not an experiment that needs performing imo, would far rather see Jenks given a run at right back once Bessone/Fry are fit.

Ultimately, Solly might be slightly better suited to midfield because of his physique, but like I say it's hard to see him being better in that role than Semedo.
  • I was impressed with his work rate he also has a terrific first touch and can pass the ball. Hopefully he'll get a few more games this season.

Yes i have seen Morgan Fox, for the U16s and the u18s. Has played the last few games for the U18s at left back as Joe Carter, i think, is on loan. Is much better at Centre half as is lacking a bit of pace for full back. Was also great to see Callum, Yado, Alex, and Chris Solly on the bench. i don't know what other posters think but i think it is imperative for the well being of Charlton that the youth continue to push for first team places.
  • Good lad, has shown some impressive touches, deserves to be in the team.

Hope that he is given time and opportunity to develop. Hopefully he will go on to be a very important player for us.
  • A very exciting prospect.
  • Unbelivable young player. Great touch. Great pace. Great vision. Use both feet. Great defender ( haven't seen him get taken on once). All round great player. We will be lucky to keep him!!

I agree with the thought to try him in the middle - he's certainly confident on the ball and has two good feet. He's quick, fairly strong and a good communicator.

    Hugely impressive

I'm not surprised. The big boys will be watching him from now to the end of the season. Strong, very good ability, sound defensively, very good going forward, good pace and improving with every game. His versatility is a real asset. His ability to play on both sides of the pitch and in the middle, to a high standard, will attract numerous clubs higher up the league. He also showed character as well on Saturday. Despite his relative inexperience in the first team, he was prepared to bo**ock a senior player (Racon) who wasn't doing his job properly in front of him and tracking the opposition right back.

A big future in the game, especially if he progresses at the same rate as he has been doing since coming into the first team. Looks like another successful product from the Academy.

Just noticed through the good old search facility i was impressed with Jenkinson back in Dec 08, playing in a centre half role.

Like the kid a lot, seems to have a great approach and its quite obvious he is full of confidence by the way he is happy to carry the ball and try and get forward.
