  • OUT OUT OUT

I dont really care who we get in but id have anyone other than this melon at the moment. We dont even attempt to play good football. Fortune pumped about 20 passes aimlesly forward tonight.....everytime their centre half got it he gave to easy to a teammate.
  • Have to agree - I've thrown the towel in - new manager please.
  • Perhaps they will judge parky on results, just like when he got the job.
  • i totally agree he has to go now while we've still got a chance of promotion
  • Paulo Sousa.
  • [cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]Paulo Sousa.

    yep
  • I would love to know if someone gets a price on him being the next league one manager shown the door.
  • [cite]Posted By: The Red Robin[/cite]Paulo Sousa.
Really? Because of his exotic name?

[cite]Posted By: ISawLeaburnScore[/cite]not exactly a high names per post count... Curbishley, Adkins and Poyet are all totally off the menu

so far: Megson, Wilson, Powell, Di Canio, Magilton... bit of variation there!

Without access to a worldwide scouting system it's always going to be difficult to come up with any acceptable replacement for his supporters! It's easy to knock anyone elses suggested alternatives BUT we do have eyeballs and we can see that we are basically going nowhere or even backwards under Parky. He has had more than a fair crack of the whip, the support of (most of) the crowd and some very fortunate/strange board level decisions go in his favour but I really think we have reached the end of the road with PP otherwise we will be looking at another Target 10,000 campaign next year.

  • Something is very very wrong.

Yes the buck stops with Parkinson and yes he has to shoulder the blame for tonights debacle, but the players need to swallow an equal share.

Even Parkinson's harshest critic can't believe that he sends the players out with the instruction to simply hoof the ball into the channels and hope for the best.

Stunned by that to be honest. That was way in excess of the shite we saw against Brighton.

If he is going to be removed Mr Slater needs to act now. He has clearly lost the majority of the fans and I believe something is wrong in the dressing room. We have good players who seem unable to pass 5 yards, control a ball and who seem unwilling to fight it out at home.
  • have always been a defender of parky but after today ive really gone to the other side.... a complete lack of tactical awareness (including the introduction of abbott which immediately signalled defeat in my eyes) but also the evidence that he simply can't motivate the players. utterly tragic display.

I wasn't knocking anyone's suggestions... apart from the three I singled out as they are very very unlikely to happen

I wasn't denying anyone had eyeballs and I wasn't even particularly defending Parky as I don't really know how you can defend that past a very limited point... I was merely making the point that it would be good to have some names and reasons, and debate from that rather than a boring page of "Parky is shit fuck off" posts with nothing behind them but inevitable frustrations but each to their own.

I don't think you need access to a worldwide scouting system to throw a few options into the hat... for a start you can probably restrict worldwide to within the confines of this island in all likelihood.

mediocre players ,with a mediocre manager , in a mediocre league , a new manager with fresh ideas and a couple of decent signings and we could get out of this poxy division.

    sorry rephrase that shite manager.
  • Can I point out that Poyet will not come to Charlton, regardless of who he knows and where his son plays etc.

Brighton gave him a break when he was out of work - he will not turn his back on them.

He applied for the job with us after Pardew and RM did not even grant him an interview/personal reply, and he was gutted by this.

No point in mentioning his name in connection with us again.

As for Parky, and us - the footie it totally unwatchable shite.

clem i could believe that if it was just tonight but it isnt. its every week. it must be coming from the management.
  • Must have been an eyeopener for Slater to watch Charlton fans leaving the ground in droves before the match had ended
  • Clem_Snide I have to say I agree with your post top to tail

Yes, WSS I want Paulo Sousa as manager because of his exotic name. No other reason at all.
  • Of all the matches for that sort of performance...

Very big decision for Mr Slater to make after that - does he give Parky whatever transfer funds that might be available this month, however limited, or pay him off and bring in his own man?
It might well mean that there's less (if anything) left to spend on new players, but it could be that the current squad might be good enough under different leadership.

Agree with Clem Snide - if he's going to be sacked, it really has to happen soon.

I personally don't think that he should necessarily go, although seven goals conceded in two games does start to tell its own story.

I honestly believe he does, I find it much harder to believe that the players just completely ignore what he tells them, every week
  • All a bit harsh on Parky....mind you if we don't win at Tottenham things may change.

If they are going to sack him, they have to do it now as it will give a new manager almost 2 weeks to prepare for our next league game

    HA!
  • Eddie Howe, but would be leave?

    Very difficult decision.

    Good shout

LMAO i really hope this is in jest they are 2 leagues above us!
  • Paul Trollope? Ronnie Moore? Keith Hill?
  • They won't sack him. Slater made much about continuity in his opening interview. I think with many of the same names in the background we can expect much of the same as we have already seen. If we had anywhere near 14,000 in that ground then I really am a monkey's uncle. What we need now is a massive culture change at Charlton, they are quite literally boring me to death.
  • 2 options, 1.sack parky 2.don't play any more games at home this season.
  • Parky has to go.
He has been involved with our clubs decline since day 1.
We need new people in charge.
He has had his chance, and failed.
