[cite]Posted By: Greenster[/cite]To be fair I remember the "Super Al, Super Al" chant going out at many games especially early on. The team he inherited from Dowie (uncle Les) took us down not Pardew & in the championship we were in free fall as the wheels had come off .....
May be controversial but I am not in the opinion he is the worse manager in the league, somewhat lucky to get the job but they did employ Joe Kinnear & is he any worse than Mick Macartney, Pulis or Allacydce ??

I'm sure I'm not alone in pleading guilty to that one. Pardew was the man I wanted for the job and I was delighted when he was appointed. That was then, this is now. We know a lot more about him now and so should everyone else (particularly Newcastle).

Eh? We had the best team in the Championship when we got relegated and , that's before his ego got in the way.
"I represent the fans. I'm an employee of the club, but I'll be knocking on the door trying to get the maximum funds I can to make the club the best it can be.
"I've never had a problem with that in the past. In the past I have convinced owners to have faith and trust in me to invest."
My blood is boiling that he is still able to steal a living as a football manager.
"I have had a lot of texts from managers saying 'you must be mad going there', but I would never be able to live with myself if I did not take that challenge on."
... so nothing to do with the money and the fact you are out of work. Plus if he fails ... well, what did people expect ... they all said it was a mad move anyway ... as usual, he can't lose.
"With the record of managers they have had here, it does not bode well, but I have tried to get in that contract a situation that they have to show faith in me."
In other words, if they sack me before end of five year contract, I'm quids in.
"I don't think I am going to win a PR battle; the battles I need to win are on the pitch,"
Mmmm ... actually I think you might find it's with the fans regardless of results on the pitch ... although that will help.
Man City always were the standing joke. That got worse when they sold out to the former Thai Prime Minister and the joke stopped completely when they were bought by Middle Eastern oil money. They sacked a perfectly reasonable manager, who, being Welsh, was not foreign enough. However, they are serious contenders in the PL and you can't laugh at them any more.
But we don't have to because now we have Newcastle, who were bought by a guy who knew nothing about football and didn't even do his due diligence. Now they have sacked a perfectly reasonable manager and replaced him with a ........ fill in the gap yourself. Incidentally, Chris Hughton has come out of this with his integrity in tact. Who else has?
How bad are Liverpool though. Lucas, Skrtel, Kygiakos were all dreadful and they might as well sell Torres in January whilst they can, as he clearly doesn't want to be there anymore.
I suspect he'll be fine til January, when he starts pissing about in the transfer window, and then it'll start going pearshaped. Although probably not quite enough to take them back down sadly.
I have tried to take no notice of the drama up at toon because I absolutely loathe pardew and all his oily smarmy talk about his self belief, which those who have had dealings with him rightly recognise as arsey, unfounded arrogance. But I can't help myself, it is fascinating watching the way he is playing it out all as the reasonable honourable guy, when we know what he is really like, what an utter cock he truly is. Sadly, he has got a half decent squad there, if he just plays it steady I fear he might salvage a bit of reputation as a manager. An awful prospect. And he could not resist a little dig at Soton eh trying to draw a comparison between Hughton's departure and his own. Total and utter c****. But Henry is right. Time to move on. Just a bit tricky sometimes when it is still a little raw....
Their previous goal keeping coach Paul Barron is partially responsible for why Shay Given went from Blackburn reserve to one of the best 'keepers in the premiership, the club is a mess.
Pardew has demonstrated he hasn't an ounce of tactical knowledge about him.
Just f**k off Pardew. F*cking no mark pr*ck
Sick of the sight of the c*** already
Pardew is an utter f**king snake of a man. Managerially wise? He's only been here three games and he's already turned us into a hopeless, long ball side
Who the f**k is playing off Carroll? Smith?
He's going to turn us into a genuine long-ball team at this rate.
Perch FFS
I know he's trying to teach Ranger a lesson but when there are no other options use him Pardew you f**kwit.
We've got so much of the ball but no idea what to do with it other than aimless long balls. If this is indicative of what Pardew has been instilling then we're done for...
I could have sworn Pardew said we wouldn't be playing long ball and bringing the kids through
Unsurprising views there from the Newcastle fans. We know what they've been through.
It's only early days but watching Match of the Day at the weekend I couldn't help but see similarities between Newcastle and some of the traits that were so evident in our demise in 2008/2009. Mistakes in midfield were made, and then no attempt by the individual to rectify the mistake and very little pressing by the rest of the midfield. We didn't defend as a team that year. Will be interesting to see if Newcastle do the same.
The only thing that may save them is that Andy Carroll is on fire, and excels at both long balls pumped forward and decent crosses into the box. Iwelumo/Gray could get on the end of crosses, but were pretty poor as target men.

Do you remember the 'you're not super anymore' chant too?

By the time he left I was considering starting a whip-round for a hitman!
Thank God someone did!
I had started to believe it was a hazy dream.
Under what criteria could anyone describe his time with us as 'good management;?

Liverpool are shocking, Kyriakos & Skertel would struggle at League One level on todays showing.
Not as bad as you thought he was when he left.
Time to move on.

Hope we get a decent replacement in though - and hope we got some compensation too
Sounds like Paul Barron is available!
