[cite]Posted By: Plaaayer[/cite]Apparently written into his contract that should he be sacked he won't have it paid up in full. I'm sure he'd still get a decent amount though.

Hardly worth having the contract then?
I'm not saying he won't get some sort of payout but he won't get his contract paid up.
Did anyone hear the Radio 5 interview with Danny Mills about this? My opinion of our stalwart of the back four dropped like a stone. Danny said he was a great man manager and coach who has done well wherever he has been. Said that Pardew was 'forced to sell almost all the players'' whilst they were together at Charlton. Astonishing, but obviously he is not alone in this line of thinking.

and Matt Holland has come out in his support too. Incredible.

Well Holland was one of his favourites. Wasn't until Parky replaced him that he stopped getting in the team.
To be fair I remember the "Super Al, Super Al" chant going out at many games especially early on. The team he inherited from Dowie (uncle Les) took us down not Pardew & in the championship we were in free fall as the wheels had come off .....
May be controversial but I am not in the opinion he is the worse manager in the league, somewhat lucky to get the job but they did employ Joe Kinnear & is he any worse than Mick Macartney, Pulis or Allacydce ??
SSN only had 2 emails/texts in support of Pardew & 1 of them was because he came across well in the press conference (doesn't he always).
However, Pardew pronounced Chris Hughton as Houghton which didn't impress me.
5 and a half year contract though, he really can't lose can he ?

Yes, I heard it - cringeworthy. But Danny Mills went down in my estimation a long time ago - when he admitted to getting sent off deliberately for us so he could spend Christmas with his family. Takes one to know one...
Author, broadcaster, musician and Charlton fan Charlie Connelly has written a sober, intelligent reflection on Alan Pardew's appointment at Newcastle - here.

He's not terrible and has surely learnt lessons from his time here.
However he made several huge errors in the transfer market. Had he built a proper balanced squad (as Parky has shown he can) we wouldn't have been in free fall.
Took risks on fairly young foreign players - Racon, Semedo and Moutaouakil. None were or currently look like future Premier League players.
Lower league and non-league players - McLeod, Varney, Fleetwood, Dickson, Dorian Smith, Dean Sinclair
Loanees - mixed results but generally too many and not for the right reasons (players coming back for injury or in positions we didn't need)
Big money on very average players - Andy Gray, Bougherra (at the time, and still not proven in the Prem). Even Zheng, who wasn't what we needed considering we had plenty of similar lightweight attacking midfielders.
Then we had Iwelumo, good signing on a free, but we didn't use properly (and could say the same about others, Varney in particular). Signings like Fleetwood and Sinclair were completely ridiculous for a club looking to get back into the Premier League. Started 08/09 with only two of our own centre backs.
As for the comparison to McCarthy, Pulis and Allardyce, none of them would ever put together such an unbalanced squad.
People go on about tactics and motivation, but so much comes down to signing the right players.
I'm sure Pardew will never make as many mistakes as he did when it comes to signing players again, but he'll have to do an impressive job at Newcastle before I'm saying he's a good Premier Leauge manager.

Yes.
It's Mick McCarthy and Sam Allardyce, by the way. They've been Premier League managers for long enough to at least deserve a quick google before posting.

He has a very tough start as boss there. If they get some good results, then the fans will start to warm to him and if he continues to tell them what they want to hear, he will be accepted. Cannot wait to see what he will do in January.
However, if you look at his first 5-6 game record at West Ham, Charlton and Saints, it is very average. Sure it took him till mid Sept to get his first win at Southampton, whilst despite tough fixtures- he did only win 2 games between December 24th and February 24th when taking charge of us. If he repeats this at Newcastle, which is very possible then he will be in trouble. They are not a million miles away from the bottom 6 and safety in the Prem- which must be the main objective even with their decent position is not guaranteed. If Andy Carroll loses form/fitness/desire to play for Pardew- they could be in danger.

I can't believe the actual anger I feel when I see that picture!
I hope he crashed and burns in record time.
How on earth do you know that?
Hardly worth having the contract then?

If true maybe Ashley isn't as stupid as some are saying.
As I said before I think Pardew will do well up there.

He's not exactly a virgin, but I see your point!

I so hope Liverpool stuff them this weekend.
